Ashley Heims

Ashley was born and raised in Manchester, Iowa and attended West Delaware High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Coe College in 2019 before attending Kirkwood Community College for her Physical Therapist Assistant license in 2021. She has been working at an outpatient clinic in Waterloo for the last year and a half as both a Physical Therapy Assistant full time and picking up Athletic training for affiliate schools when needed. She recently got certified in Graston, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, this fall. Ashley continues to thoroughly love being a PTA to help patients reach their goals and return them to their prior level of function. Outside of work Ashley is the head softball coach for West Delaware and enjoys staying active with working out and spending time with family and friends. In the past, Ashley competed in the hero hustle sprint triathlon, ran a marathon, 3 half marathons and Ragbraii!

Barb Kluesner

Barb is the Patient Care Coordinator for the Dyersville office. She grew up on a farm in rural Worthington and graduated from Western Dubuque High School. She attended NICC in Peosta and later went to get her medical transcription degree. She has been working at PTS since 2017. She really enjoy meeting the patients and getting to see the progress they make throughout the process of the therapy sessions. She resides in New Vienna with her husband, Steve, their three kids William, Kathryn and Wyatt and dog Dolly. In her spare time Barb enjoys watching hockey, baking, being outside and spending time with family and friends.

Colin Connelly

Colin was raised in Guttenberg, Iowa and attended Clayton Ridge High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from UW-Platteville in Biology in 2019. He then attended Clarke University where he graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2022. While in school, he completed a clinical rotation at Physical Therapy Solutions in Dubuque that eventually progressed into a job after graduation. Colin has an interest in all outpatient orthopedic patients, with a high interest in athletes and TMJ patients. Colin plans to get his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association later this year or early next year. At Clarke, he was heavily educated on the McKenzie approach for treating the spine and plans to take more courses in the future to better treat this patient population. In his time at Clarke, he received certifications in HawkGrips IASTM I and sole supports orthotics. Colin is the youngest of 3 siblings, Heaven and Colten. His parents, Chad and Kathy, still live in Guttenberg. Colin currently resides in Kieler, WI. Outside of work, Colin likes to stay very active. In the winter months, he plays rec league basketball in Dubuque a couple days of the week and occasionally downhill skis. During the summer months, he enjoys spending his time on the golf course, going to concerts, or out on his family's boat tubing or fishing. Additionally, he enjoys hiking and wants to visit as many of the National Parks as he can. If he isn't busy with those, he enjoys watching sports on TV, and going to college or professional games if time allows for it.

Jason Putz

Jason was raised in Farley and attended Western Dubuque High School. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Iowa State University with an emphasis on Health and Human Performance and a minor in Psychology and Health Studies in 1995. While attending Iowa State University, Jason participated on the Iowa State football team. There, he became a three-time letter winner and All-Big-Eight academic selection for playing defensive tackle from 1991-1995. Jason then went to the University of Iowa to complete his Master's of Physical Therapy. Jason is a past president of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association and has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1997. After graduation from the University of Iowa Physical Therapy program, Jason enjoyed outpatient physical therapy work in Washington and Kalona, Iowa, where he was a staff physical therapist. Jason gained experience in outpatient orthopedics, work safety, ergonomics, home health, and sports medicine. Jason started Physical Therapy Solutions in 2003 and continues to work with orthopedic/neurological patients, work safety/ergonomics, and sports medicine. Jason uses a wide educational background of McKenzie treatment for treatment of pain from the spine, as well as Mulligan treatment to help mobilize the spine and joints. He is also certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (Astym) by Performance Dynamics for treatment of soft tissue injuries. Chronic pain sufferers can receive relief with Jason's approach of therapeutic neuroscience pain education and graded motor imagery techniques for pain management. Jason brings a broad knowledge of expertise in orthopedics/sports medicine, work safety/ergonomics, and chronic pain to the Dyersville area (Mondays & Fridays), Dubuque area (Tuesdays & Thursdays), and Manchester area (Wednesdays). Jason has been practicing physical therapy since 1999 and resides in Epworth with his wife Darcy of 24 years and their three children Grace, Ella, and Payton.

Lonna Edwards

Lonna is the Patient Care Coordinator for the Dubuque office. She was born and raised in Waterloo, but has lived in Winona, MN for the last 5 years with her husband. She recently moved to Dubuque and started her new position here at PTS 8/15/22. Her and her husband were married here in Dubuque on the American Lady river dinner cruise boat in 2017. Lonna has two children, her son Hunter lives in Waterloo and her daughter Brooke lives in Forest Park, Ill. Lonna and her husband moved back to Iowa to be close to their family. Most of her career has been in Retail Management and Customer Service/ Banking. In her spare time Lonna enjoys the outdoors, camping, vacationing on cruise ships, volunteering, and has her own craft business. Lonna looks forward to getting to know the patients and staff here at PTS. Please welcome Lonna to the Dubuque office!

Rachel Polito

Rachel grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland and received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from the University of Delaware in 2008 and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 2011. Rachel has practiced physical therapy in both the hospital and private practice setting since earning her degree, and has been with PTS since 2014. Rachel has earned the designation as a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS). Rachel is also certified in the Astym system for soft tissue injuries and chronic tendinopathies. Rachel has always had a passion for treating orthopedic conditions, but became interested in pursuing advanced education in pelvic floor physical therapy after having her first daughter. Rachel has completed coursework through the APTA's Section on Women's Health and Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute for specialization training in pelvic floor physical therapy including the treatment of incontinence (including leaking and/or frequent urge to use the bathroom) for men, women, and children, pregnancy related pain and dysfunction, postpartum recovery, abdominal wall dysfunction including diastasis recti and post surgical pain, overactive/tight pelvic floor conditions, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, constipation and bowel dysfunction, osteoporosis, as well as side effects from cancer treatment. Rachel has a passion for educating and treating her patients with pelvic floor conditions and helping her patients restore function and improve their quality of life. Rachel works in our Dyersville clinic and lives with her husband Josiah and their daughters Avery and Hannah in Manchester.

Ted Kruse

Ted was raised in Dyersville and attended Beckman Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Iowa State University in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology in 2002. He then studied at University of Iowa, where he graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2004. After graduation, he was employed by Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers in Waukee, IA. He spent two and a half years as a staff physical therapist and two years as the clinic manager. The clinic focus was in outpatient orthopedics; which he gained experience in sports medicine, general orthopedics, and worker's compensation. Ted has also been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in the past. He likes to implement exercise and a strong manual therapy approach to rehabilitation. He utilizes the McKenzie method for assessment and treatment of the spine, as well as Mulligan techniques for the spine and extremities. He is also certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (Astym) by Performance Dynamics for treatment of soft tissue injuries, as well as received his certification in LSVT BIG for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders. Ted has been practicing since 2005 and returned to the Dyersville community in 2009. He and his wife Terese currently reside in Dyersville with their children Maria, Luke, Theo, and Micah.
