Dr. Eamon Colvin

Dr. Eamon Colvin, C.Psych. (Supervised Practice) is a clinical psychologist in supervised practice who provides psychotherapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults. He provides services for a range of areas including mood concerns, anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, worry), substance use, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress symptoms, life adjustments, and interpersonal concerns. People seek support for many reasons. Dr. Colvin's approach to mental health services emphasizes forming a collaborative, genuine relationship with clients to identify their goals, strengths, and needs. He strives to create a warm environment in which people from all backgrounds feel comfortable being themselves. Dr. Colvin flexibly applies evidence-based treatment principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, among other approaches. Dr. Colvin completed his Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa in Clinical Psychology during which time he trained various hospital, private practice, and community-based settings. He completed his predoctoral internship with Alberta Health Services at various hospital settings in Calgary. Dr. Colvin is currently supervised by registered clinical psychologist Dr. Jacob Kaiserman, Psy.D., C.Psych., while he completes his registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Dr. Jacob Kaiserman

Dr. Jacob Kaiserman provides psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, grief, difficulty adjusting to life's changes, and interpersonal conflict. He also provides therapy to help couples work towards a more intimate, stable relationship as well as helping with parenting skills and conflict resolution. Dr. Kaiserman's theoretical orientation is best described as integrative, combining cognitive-behavioral techniques with a person-centered focus and an awareness of existential concerns. He believes that a successful experience in therapy includes a strong therapeutic relationship, psychoeducation, evidence-based treatments, and a collaborative effort. Dr. Kaiserman works with his clients to develop the skills, awareness and motivation to move forward with their lives in a more meaningful way. Prior to moving to Ottawa, Dr. Kaiserman received his Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Kaiserman is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. In support of the profession, he also maintains memberships in provincial and local psychological associations. He keeps up to date on current developments in the field of Psychology by regularly attending relevant workshops and lectures.

Dr. Jennifer Vriend

Dr. Jennifer Vriend provides psychological services to children, adolescents, and families. She offers psycho-educational assessments for children and adolescents with possible learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as to evaluate gifted status. Additionally, Dr. Vriend provides individual therapy to children, youth, and families experiencing difficulties including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sleep problems, interpersonal challenges, parent-child relational conflict and adjustment to parental separation and divorce. Dr. Vriend provides a warm, caring environment in order to build a collaborative relationship with children, youth and their families. Her therapeutic orientation may best be described as cognitive-behavioural (CBT), which involves understanding the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This approach not only helps youth to address current issues, but also increases their self-efficacy and empowers them with tools to overcome future challenges. Dr. Vriend is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. In support of the profession, she maintains memberships in international, national, and local associations. Dr. Vriend is passionate about working with children and youth. She enjoys working with the media as well as giving community presentations on various topics, including anxiety, sleep, resilience, and parenting strategies. Dr. Vriend keeps up to date on current developments in the field by attending and providing educational lectures and attending conferences and workshops.

Dr. Julian Caza

Dr. Julian Caza is a clinical psychologist serving children, adolescents, and adults. He provides psychological assessment and intervention services for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, other fear-based conditions (e.g., specific phobias, panic attacks, agoraphobia, separation anxiety, selective mutism, generalized anxiety/worry), post-traumatic stress, mood concerns, life adjustments, behavioural problems, parenting, enuresis, and trichotillomania. Dr. Caza also provides psychological/psychoeducational assessments to evaluate learning disorders, intellectual disability, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), gifted status, and personality. Dr. Caza provides clinical supervision for Ph.D. candidates and teaches part-time at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Caza is registered as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa and has trained in hospital, school, and community practice settings.

Dr. Kelly Weegar

Dr. Kelly Weegar (she/her) provides assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and families for diverse needs such as anxiety, trauma, grief, mood concerns, emotion and behaviour dysregulation, learning and developmental difficulties, parent-child relationship issues and support with difficult life circumstances. Dr. Weegar's approach is strength-focused and integrative. She strives to foster nurturing, genuine, and empowering relationships with her clients, children and their caregivers alike. She works collaboratively with her clients to set goals that are tailored to both strengths and needs, often combining different evidence-based (research supported) therapeutic tools to address those goals. Dr. Weegar also places a lot of importance on strengthening diverse family and social connections for all of the children and youth she works with. Dr. Weegar completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa and has trained in a variety of hospital, school, and community-based settings. She is registered as a clinical psychologist in autonomous practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. To remain current on developments in mental health care for children and youth, she continues to attend training workshops and other professional development opportunities. Dr. Weegar also has a keen interest in educating others about trauma and its potential effects on children's well-being and functioning. Beyond her clinical work, she provides training workshops about child maltreatment and related topics to a variety of audiences, including school-based professionals and other mental health practitioners.

Dr. Molisa Meier

Dr. Molisa Meier provides individual therapy to adults, adolescents, and older children experiencing anxiety (e.g., generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety), mood problems (e.g., low self-esteem, depression, bipolar), relationship/interpersonal problems, difficulties adjusting to life transitions, perfectionism, and sleep difficulties. She takes an integrative approach to meet the specific needs of her clients, which may involve elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), schema therapy, mindfulness, and humanistic therapy. She aims to build a safe and warm therapeutic environment and to collaboratively develop a treatment plan with each client. In addition, Dr. Meier provides psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults to evaluate for learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and gifted status.

E. Gaëlle Hortop

E. Gaëlle Hortop provides psychotherapy to adults and couples with diverse socio-cultural identities (e.g. gender, sexual-orientation, ethnicity) experiencing difficulties related to depression and loss, anxiety, anger, trauma, sleep, interpersonal difficulties, sexual functioning, life transitions, and existential issues related to meaning and purpose. Based on expressed needs and goals, she works collaboratively to develop a plan for therapy that integrates empirically-supported treatment approaches including mindfulness-based, emotion-focused, attachment-based, interpersonal, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapies. She believes that a successful experience in therapy includes a strong therapeutic relationship, psychoeducation, evidence-based treatments, and a collaborative effort. She is currently in her final year of the clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Ottawa. Her clinical training experience includes the Center for Interpersonal Relationships, Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic, the Royal Ottawa Hospital, the Ottawa General Hospital, The Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre, the Centre for Psychological Services and Research, Saint Mary's Hospital (Montreal) and the Applied Psychology Centre (Montreal). Her doctoral research seeks to understand the role of mindfulness in protecting individuals from the negative effects of work-related stressors and controlling interpersonal relationships. She maintains membership with the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), routinely attending psychology conferences and workshops and following current developments in relevant clinical and scientific literature. At Queensview Professional Services, she is a therapist under the supervision of Dr. Jacob Kaiserman, C.Psych.

Melissa Chapman

Melissa Chapman is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and offers psychotherapy to adults experiencing symptoms associated with anxiety, post-traumatic stress, low mood, and perinatal mental health. Melissa also works with individuals who wish to maintain their wellness in recovery from experiences of psychosis. Melissa has over 8 years of experience working as a clinician for the Royal Ottawa Health Care group, serving individuals in hospital to treat various mental health concerns. Using a compassionate and person-centred approach, Melissa integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with strategies from compassion and mindfulness-based practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and at times, Emotion Focused Therapy. Melissa earned a Master of Arts in Psychology with a focus in forensics from Carleton University and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University.
