Dr. Nooshin Aghili

My name is Dr. Nooshin Aghili. I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I have recently relocated to Rancho Palos Verdes, after 15 years of practice in The West Los Angeles area. As a clinical psychologist I have been trained and have extensive experience in working with adults, children, adolescents, individually, as a couple, or within family settings. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship, a full-time, 2 year training, at Reiss-Davis Child Study Center in 2000. Reiss-Davis was ranked second in the world at the time, in child and adolescent analytic training. I have worked as a volunteer, as an employee, or a trainee in the field of psychology since 1988. Over the years, I have been a consultant to LAUSD, Santa Monica/ Malibu School district, have been The Director of The Family, Adolescent, and Child Therapy Program and Doctoral Level Clinical Supervisor at The Maple Counseling Center, Clinical Supervisor at FOCUS (an agency for children with special needs), Clinical Supervisor at Children's Institute International , and co- implemented a program at UCLA on how to work with at risk youth as a part of my doctoral project during 1996-1998. Over the years, I have been invited as an expert by The State of California (governor's office in Sacramento), UCLA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Persian Educational Television and various training settings to provide educational lectures. I enjoy working with all age groups. I have a compassionate, yet direct and effective approach in working with patients. I am fluent in Farsi (Persian/Iranian). I understand the family dynamics of The Persian Clientele and their difficulties in assimilation, acculturation and intergenerational dynamics.
