Heads of Department The Heads of Department are the leaders of learning in their Departments. It is their responsibility to inspire a love of learning in the staff and in our girls; to encourage the formulation of programs that are responsive to the latest research into teaching and learning; to communicate to their teachers the most up-to-date knowledge and skills in their curriculum area; to manage the delivery of learning outcomes; to initiate and coordinate strategies; and to ensure ongoing evaluation of teaching and learning practices.

Pastoral Care Team The Pastoral Care Team monitor the academic progress and social development of the girls in their care. They also attend to the daily emotional and physical needs of each girl. It is their responsibility to foster an open and caring environment where girls can achieve their academic and non-academic goals. They attend to the administrative duties associated with each Year group and provide a diverse program of activities tailored to the specific needs and concerns of their group. The Heads of Year are the main point of contact between the College and home, and work with families to ensure the best school experience for their daughters.

Ms Elizabeth Carnegie comes to Stella Maris with fifteen years experience on school leadership teams across Catholic independent and systemic schools in both the Wollongong and Sydney dioceses. In these roles she has had responsibility for the leadership of Pastoral Care, Mission and Religious Education and most recently held the post of Assistant Principal-Pastoral Care at St Scholastica's College in Glebe. Elizabeth was a member of the Chevalier College Board and its Strategic Planning Committee for four years as the educational consultant.
Elizabeth grew up on the Northern Beaches and is a former student of Stella Maris College, graduating in 1978. She holds a Master of Religious Education, Bachelor of Arts (English and Psychology), Graduate Diploma in Education, Graduate Diploma in Media and Diploma of Education.

Mission Team The Mission Team's aim is to enrich each girl's experience with opportunities to explore her personal spirituality in meaningful ways: to develop strong ethics and to live the Benedictine Values which include, among others, Hospitality, Justice and Peace, Stewardship and Community. The team coordinates the social justice program, overseas immersion experiences, camps and retreats, liturgies and prayer services, reflection days and other activities related to the spiritual wellbeing of the College community.
Jiani Chen, the College International Program Manager and Marketing Manager, has come full circle. She began her overseas student journey at Stella Maris in Year 10 at the age of fourteen. After school she progressed to the University of New South Wales, undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce with major studies in marketing, accounting and tourism. On the completion of her degree, the College was delighted to invite her back as a member of staff. Jiani was always a top performing student, both at school and at university, culminating in her being awarded the Minister's Award for Excellence in Tourism Studies whilst at university.
