WELL GULLY

Well Gully is located 24km north of Mitchell in southwest Queensland. The semi-arid sub-tropical environment means animals must be able to prevail in diverse climatic conditions, from extreme heat and humidity (up to 48 degrees Celsius) in summer to sub-zero (as low as -13 degrees Celsius) winter temperatures. Well Gully receives and average of 21 inches of rain per year, with most of this falling between September and March... Well Gully Poll Merino Stud was founded in 1974 and registered in 1987 (Flock No. 1106). Since the beginning Errol Brumpton has been recording data as part of a program of continual improvement, resulting in the production of sheep which many said could not be produced - a quick-maturing meat sheep with high quality merino wool - a true multi-purpose sheep.
