Alan is one of the founding Partners at Amethyst. With over 35 years industry experience. An easy to talk to enthusiast with the ability to transfer the complex into simple understandable concepts.
John joined Amethyst IFAs in 2019 with 7 years prior experience in financial services and holds a diploma in regulated financial planning. He enjoys working with his clients to achieve their financial goals, whether that be planning for retirement, investing savings, brokering a mortgage or sourcing financial protection.
John is also an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant and with his background can add further value to his advice with efficient tax planning.
Karen is the office Manager at Amethyst she is often the first point of contact when customers phone the office, she has been in financial services since she left school and is fantastic at running the office.
Liz joined Amethyst in 2009 having been a mortgage adviser since 1996. Liz is a great Mortgage and Protection adviser based in Scotland. Liz is really good at sourcing both straightforward mortgages and more complex products.
Liz loves helping people achieve their aspirations, she is committed to providing a good level of customer service and always looks to fully understand her clients requirements. Liz has a flexible diary system which allows her to meet clients at a time which suits them. Liz loves revisiting clients at mortgage reviews to see the lovely homes they have moved into.
As a founding partner Malcolm has been with Amethyst since it first opened its doors in 2001. He has nearly 25 years' experience in delivering financial advice. He holds his diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and is also a qualified Pension Transfer Specialist. Malcolm takes pride in the fact he still advises clients he obtained in the early days of Amethyst and that he is now giving the same advice to many of their children.
Paul is a partner at Amethyst IFAs
He advises on all aspects of financial planning with a particular focus on Pensions and Investments including Defined Benefit (Final Salary Schemes), part of this involves cashflow modelling which enables clients to get a good idea of their current and future financial positions.
Paul enjoys spending time with clients discussing their needs and offering solutions in straightforward and easy to understand terms.
He is very easy to speak with and feels that one of the most important areas is to ensure his clients are in a position of informed choice, so they are aware of all options available.

Stephen has been an adviser since 1993 and covers the South East of Scotland, he joined Amethyst in 2004. He is calm, good natured and thoughtful. Stephen loves to visit clients and takes his time to understand their full needs and aspirations.
