Arthur Johannes is a Senior Associate at Adriaans Attorneys and also the Head of its Trust and Estates Department. Arthur specialises in work relating to the law of succession, estate and trust administration. This entails, estate planning, the drafting of wills, deceased estate administration, curatorship administration, drafting and registration of trust deeds and trusteeship and trust administration. Arthur is also a registered liquidator.
Ashley Adriaans is the Managing Director of Adriaans Attorneys and also the Head of its Dispute Resolution Department. He has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration in South Africa with a specific focus on banking related litigation, disputes involving local authorities and building disputes.

Carla Batt is a Conveyancer and Consultant in our Real Estate Department. Carla has more than 10 years property law experience. She specializes in the preparation of all conveyancing documentation, including residential and commercial transfers and bonds in respect of conventional property and sectional title units. She also has vast experience in the registration of Sectional Title Schemes (commercial, residential and mixed developments), the drafting of Management and Conduct Rules, as well as Scheme Extensions and Exclusive Use registration.

Chloe is a Candidate Attorney at Adriaans Attorneys, who has in the limited time under the guidance of Whitney Maclons gained experience in various High Court and Magistrates Court matters.
Lauren Barnard-Slamet is a Senior Associate of Adriaans Attorneys in the Dispute Resolution Department. She has extension knowledge and experience in commercial litigation, including property law; contractual disputes; delictual dispute; local and provincial government disputes; Competition law and Employment law.

Lindsay is a Chartered Accountant (SA), a tax specialist by profession, a practicing member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as a registered tax practitioner with the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at UNISA, obtaining his Bachelor of Accounting Science and Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science/Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA). He completed his articles with Cape Town audit firm Mazars. During his tenure at Mazars, he performed a variety of audit engagements across all industries, where he received a good grounding in both small and large businesses.
He is an experienced tax and finance professional and has been involved within the tax, accounting and finance profession for more than 18 years. He acquired extensive professional experience in various positions including tax accountant, tax analyst, treasurer and financial management posts in various industries including tax, audit and advisory professional firms, retail, non-profit, banking, private equity and financial services.
Lindsay is a ‘Client Tax' expert, his core skills centre on the specialized area of advanced taxation (individual and business/corporate taxation), which includes tax compliance, tax planning and strategy, tax structuring, tax advice & health checks, tax computations, preparation & submission of tax returns and tax appeals/objections & correspondence with tax authority (SARS). Together these many years of tax experience, insight and technical skills allow him to advise on a broad range of tax issues.

Melani joined our firm in May 2022 as a Paralegal and forms part of the conveyancing division. Her experience includes administrative duties, drafting, liaising with clients and property transfers. She obtained a Conveyancing Certificates from SA Law School in 2022. She has over 7 years' experience in Real Estate and over 10 years' experience in Administration.
Owen Tobias is a Consultant of Adriaans Attorneys and heads up the Energy Law and Corporate and Commercial law practices. He obtained his BA LLB, & PMD from the University of Cape Town ("UCT") and completed his articles at Sonnenberg Hoffmann & Galombik (now Edward Nathan Sonnenberg), before being admitted as an attorney in 1995.

Raymond Scott is a Conveyancer and Senior Associate in our Real Estate Department. He has over 30 years of property law experience and has assisted numerous major corporations in nationwide property acquisition or disposition transactions. He also assists the leading commercial banks with the registration of mortgage bonds to secure large commercial loans. His key area of specialisations are property related transfers, bonds and notarial agreement and ensuing transfers, commercial bonds, residential bonds, notarial contracts (servitudes, notarial bonds and antenuptial contracts), town planning and land use matters.
