Dr. Alicia Isom

Dr. Alicia Isom is a general pediatrician who provides care for infants, children, and adolescents from birth to 21 years old in the Hagerstown, MD community. Dr. Isom is a Maryland native born in Bethesda, MD. She completed her B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. Upon graduating, she worked for one year as a research assistant at Gryphon Scientific, a scientific firm in Takoma Park, MD specializing in public health, disaster preparedness, infectious disease, and chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear defense. She then entered medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV in 2008. Throughout medical school, she became very involved in the osteopathic profession as a student leader. She served as the local chapter president of WVSOM's Student Osteopathic Medical Association and then served on the National SOMA Board. Following medical school, she entered pediatric residency at The Children's Hospital at Palms West in Loxahatchee, FL. Upon completing residency, Dr. Isom returned to Maryland and joined Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care in July 2015.

Dr. Kristina Athey is one of the founding pediatricians at Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care. It was founded in 1998. She started her group practice with her partners to provide medical care to newborns through college age. She strives for high-quality care with compassion. She enjoys providing guidance while watching your children grow and develop into an adult. She has been practicing pediatrics for twenty-one years now. She is now having the privilege of her previous older patients entrusting her with the care of their children as well. Dr. Athey graduated locally from Williamsport High School as well as Hagerstown Community College. She received her Bachelor's Degree with a major in biology at Salisbury State University on the eastern shore of Maryland. She pursued her medical degree at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. At Marshall, primary care was emphasized and she became even more passionate about her chosen specialty, general pediatrics. She entered her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia. After her pediatric training was completed, she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to practice pediatric medicine in 1995.

Dr. Leon Weaver is a Pediatrician at Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care where he has been providing compassionate and high-quality care for his patients since 2001. He strives to give patients the care they deserve and in a manner that is appreciated. Dr. Weaver loves working with pediatric patients and tailors his practice style towards them. Dr. Weaver has always enjoyed working with kids. Prior to entering medical school, he taught high school science in Prince George's County, MD. After 2 years of teaching, he then entered Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, and obtained his medical degree. He then completed his Pediatric Residency, also through Howard University College of Medicine, where he received awards for being an outstanding Resident. Upon completion of his residency training, he joined Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care and has been happily providing care here since. Since coming to Hagerstown, Dr. Weaver has been involved with the local healthcare community. He has been on staff initially at Washington County Hospital now Meritus Medical Center. Through the hospital, he has worked in the Special Care Nursery, is a past Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, and has served on a number of hospital committees as well. In addition, he served as the Medical Director of the school nurse program for Washington County Public Schools.

Karen Barb

Karen Barb, NP is passionate about Pediatrics and working closely with her patients across the Hagerstown-area to help them achieve their optimal health. Ms. Barb received both her BSN and NP degrees from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD.
