It has been founded to create and provide opportunities for our children to enjoy, learn and become fluent in their mother tongue, Tamil... The Australian Tamil Academy is the first and only school to offer the Culture Based Tamil Education (CBTE) program. It is important that the heritage and tradition of our Tamil culture, language and people is taught to our youngsters in a manner that is easy for them understand and appreciate. In the same manner, it is important for our teachers to be equipped to teach, hence we are the SRM University (Tamil Nadu, India) approved study centre offering Tamil Teacher Training program for Australian teachers - the first and only training program for Diaspora Tamil Teachers.
