The Back Porch Saloon opened its doors to customers in 1972 and was run by Al and Dori Lang. Cincinnati native Jim Schmalz passed by the "Porch" one day and thought to himself what a great location it could be. Prior to acquiring the Back Porch, Jim owned and operated Barleycorn's in the mid-'70s.
