Barham Court is an historical place outside London where Lady Margaret Middleton, gifted with hospitality, gathered leaders of her generation in a desire to change the culture in which they lived. And change it they did - the cause of abolition was championed at Barham Court and with the Slave Trade Act of 1807 and the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833, slavery disappeared from the British Empire.
