David is a full connection deacon and joined DUMC in 1995 after serving a number of churches in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from Pfeiffer University and his Master's from Scarritt College. He serves on numerous UMC national and local committees, boards and agencies. David has a keen interest in Christian education and oversees DUMC's adult education, evangelism and member involvement. He and his wife, Joy, have a grown daughter.
David oversees Adult Ministries as Spiritual Formation, as well as Hospitality for DUMC.
Rev. Garrett Wallace attended LaGrange College, where he met his wife Kylie, and graduated in 2014 with a BA in Religion: Church Leadership and a minor in Servant Leadership. While at LaGrange he served President of Wesley Fellowship, member of the Servant Scholar Program, volunteer at Circles of Troup County, Youth Intern at First Presbyterian Church LaGrange, and Co-Director of Our Daily Bread soup kitchen. After graduation he continued his education at Candler School of Theology. While there, he was a part of the Teaching Parrish Program where he served under appointment at Bethany UMC in Fayetteville, GA until graduating in May of 2018.
A cradle Methodist and native Texan, Kathy is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She is a second career pastor, having worked in the financial industry before answering God's call to ministry. Kathy graduated from the Candler School of Theology at Emory in 2013 and served as the pastor in charge of three small churches before being appointed to Dunwoody UMC in 2016. She was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in 2019. Kathy and her husband, Bard, have two grown sons.
