EAST LEIGH BARN
Updated 47 days ago
We began the conversion of East Leigh Barn, in summer 2010 and completed it in spring 2011. It has been converted to a very high standard, with high quality fixtures/fittings, from a 19thC building in a courtyard setting which comprises the original 17thC Grade II listed farmhouse together with a further barn. It is situated in the hamlet of East Leigh which was mentioned in the Domesday Book, approximately one mile from the village of Harberton in the South Hams district of South Devon, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and close to the historic market town of Totnes. It is placed a perfect mid distance twixt moor and sea and enjoys an enviable, elevated position with far-reaching, south-facing panoramic views over and beyond the Harbourne Valley. The distant glow of Start Point lighthouse can be seen across the sky on some evenings and this unspoiled view has virtually no reference to the 20th or 21st centuries. East Leigh was on a main droving route in centuries gone..
