Dr. Andrea Pellegrino

Dr. Pellegrino graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and enjoys the multi-faceted nature of small animal medicine having a special interest in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, andneurology. Dr. Pellegrino is now certified in Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee Program. She is a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) as of June, 2019. Over the past several years, Dr. Pellegrino has volunteered her time to several spay, neuter, and wellness clinics throughout northern Saskatchewan and was fortunate enough to work with Veterinarians Without Borders in Puerto Natales, Chile in 2012. Andrea grew up travelling between Calgary, Alberta and Penticton, British Columbia. Before she pursued a career in veterinary medicine, she was heavily involved in research, but found her passion lay in animal care. Andrea has a Boston Terrier named Bumble Bee and in her free time Andrea enjoys sewing and quilting and stays active participating in several sports including soccer, yoga and running. She looks forward to getting to know you and your beloved four legged friends!

Dr. Ashley Book

Dr. Book grew up in the Edmonton area, on an acreage north of Stony Plain. She attended the University of Alberta where she completed her Bachelor of Science. After graduation, she took some time to travel and work before starting the veterinary science program at the University of Sydney in Australia. She met her husband there and married before graduating in 2013.

Dr. Doug Heffelfinger

Doug has been a full-time veterinarian at Crestwood since his graduation in 2005. His various areas of expertise include ultrasonagraphy, endoscopy, reproduction and all aspects of small animal surgery and medicine. Doug was born and raised in Beaumont, Alberta and now lives in Edmonton with his wife, Kerri and two sons, Liam and Caleb. The couple have a Golden Retriever named Maddie, a cat named Mozart. A member of the Theriogenology Society, Doug is the former treasurer for EASAV and is on the advisory committee for the animal control board.

Dr. Erika Duperreault

Dr. Erika Duperreault is Crestwood's newest Veterinarian. Erika has a special interest in orthopedic surgery but is excited to gain hands-on experience in all areas of veterinary medicine. She looks forward to building a great relationship with you and your pets!

Dr. Mary Machum

Dr. Mary Machum always knew she wanted to be a small animal vet, but put her ambition on hold to study commerce and pursue a career in business during her twenties. In 1982, she decided it was time to return to university, first to study sciences and then veterinary medicine. She started working at Crestwood in 1982 as a volunteer, joined the staff as a veterinarian after graduation from OVC in 1991, and became a partner in 1992. Mary has a particular interest in animal behavior and handles most of the centre's behavioral consultations. She also likes internal medicine. She has served as a board member for the Edmonton Humane Society and the veterinary representative on the City of Edmonton Animal Control Advisory Board. Mary was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She moved to Edmonton with her family when she was sixteen. She has one child named Scott, three dogs named Danny Boy, Lucy, and Kiwi. All three are Dandie Dinmont terriers. Mary is also a lifelong horse person, and spends as much time as possible exploring the river valley trails with her horse Smartie.

Dr. Steven Lesniak

Dr. Steven Lesniak was raised in St. Albert but completed his veterinary training in Melbourne, Australia. He is particularly interested in small animal surgery. He shares his home with his wife Rachel, their son Thomas, and their 2 dogs- Harry the miniature Australian Shepherd and Iris the boxer mix! Outside of the clinic Dr. Lesniak loves to spend time with his family and on the golf course.

Dr. Todd Scott

Dr. Todd Scott is a talented veterinary surgeon who started his career in a mixed animal practice in Wainwright. He joined the staff of Crestwood in 2001 and became a partner in 2004. Todd has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and was certified to perform TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) procedures in 2003. Outside of the clinic Todd enjoys spending time with his twin daughters on their very busy farm. He has four dogs, Lexi, Paris and Vegas, who are boxers and Carly, a French Bulldog. The family also has two cats called Mr. Snuggles and Bebe. Todd is an accomplished horseman and a passionate golfer.
