Dr. Tri Huynh

Dr. Huynh received his dental training, doctorate degree, and fellowship in geriatric dentistry from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Huynh then completed the 3 year endodontic certificate program at University of California at San Francisco, where he stayed on as a full time faculty member. He is currently a Full Clinical Professor at UCSF, and has served as the Director of Predoctoral Endodontics program at UCSF Dr. Huynh has been a provider for the UCSF Faculty Endodontic Practice. At UCSF, he has worked closely with various specialists and general dentists attending to complex diagnosis and treatment cases. Dr. Huynh, a recipient of the prestigious American Association of Endodontists Foundation Educator Fellowship Award, shares his passion for endodontics through teaching the fundamentals of clinical endodontics to pre-doctoral and post-graduate students at UCSF. Being the Course Director for the Post Graduate Endodontic Literature Review Course, he keeps residents current with the latest clinical and scientific advancements in endodontics. As a former National Institute of Health Award Principal Investigator, Dr. Huynh aimed to better understand endodontic infections on a molecular biological level in efforts to someday develop better therapies for root canal infections. Dr. Huynh's research has been published in the Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Endodontics, and Infection and Immunity. Students and residents have been recognized nationally for their research under his mentorship. Dr. Huynh also serves as a manuscript reviewer for both the Journal of Endodontics and International Endodontic Journal. Dr. Huynh is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, and the Northern California Academy of Endodontics. In his spare time, Dr. Huynh enjoys being a part of events such as the Give Kids a Smile Day at UCSF, serving as a coach with the Palo Alto Little League, and spending quality time with his family exploring our great bay area outdoors.
