Dr. Ben Archer

We are proud to announce Dr. Ben Archer treats patients in our practice on a part-time basis. A native of the Tidewater Area, Dr. Archer received his undergraduate education from the University of Virginia. After being awarded a Navy Health Professions Scholarship, he attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). There he was awarded the AAOMS Oral Surgery Dental School Achievement Award. He then went on to complete residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Following residency training, Dr. Archer was stationed aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) during its first sea trial period. He currently serves as an attending surgeon at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth's residency training program. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He practices full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interests in dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, bone grafting, reconstructive surgery and temporomandibular joint surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Archer can be found spending time with his wife, Valeria, who is an Endodontist in Newport News. They enjoy traveling and volunteering in multiple Mission of Mercy Projects throughout Virginia and Texas. Dr. Archer is avid fisherman and enjoys getting to the CrossFit gym as much as he can.

Dr. Brad Trotter

Dr. Brad Trotter completed his undergraduate studies and Dental School at Indiana University. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Navy as a Lieutenant and began his general dentistry career at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. Further tours of duty included Guam and the Washington Navy Yard. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP). Subsequently, he served three years as the Oral Surgeon at Naval Hospital, Naples, Italy and then as attending staff at the NMCP residency program. After 13 years of active duty, he continued in the Navy Reserve and retired after 26 years at the rank of Captain. Dr. Trotter practiced for 14 years in the Richmond Virginia area before purchasing the practice from Dr. Mrazik in 2016 and starting Hampton Oral & Facial Surgery. He has been a part-time faculty member of VCU Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Trotter volunteers his time and talent for various Virginia Dental Association programs such as the Mission of Mercy, Donated Dental Services and Give Kids a Smile.
