Dr. Christopher R. Overcash

Dr. Christopher R. Overcash, a New Jersey native, grew up in Medford, NJ. He attended Roanoke College in Virginia where he graduated with honors in Biology in 1998. A 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Overcash earned a Certificate in Orthodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2005. Dr. Overcash has received numerous awards and honors. While at the University of Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. The National Board Part II Honors and the Matthew Cryer Honor Society. He received the Achievement Award in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the Columbia Dento-form Corp. Award and the International College of Dentists Award. Dr. Overcash belongs to several prestigious professional organizations, including, the American Association of Orthodontists, the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Middlesex County Dental Society. Dr. Overcash is the past President of the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Overcash lives in Monmouth County with his wife and colleague, Dr. Michelle Backhaus. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children, Preston and Emerson, traveling and watching his favorite sports teams compete.

Dr. Michelle M Backhaus, Pediatric Dentist, and Dr. Christopher R. Overcash, Orthodontist of Central Jersey Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, specialize in pediatric dentistry for infants, children, teens, and patients with special needs as well as offering orthodontic treatment and various types of sedation dentistry. The office provides services for all surrounding cities including Old Bridge, Sayreville, and Monroe. Dr. Michelle M. Backhaus, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, grew up in Averill Park, New York (a suburb of Albany). She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology in 2000. Thereafter, she attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia where she received her D.M.D. in 2003. While at Penn, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Matthew Cryer Dental Honor Societies and graduated at the top of her class. After dental school, Dr. Backhaus continued her postgraduate studies at New York University and received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2005. While at NYU, Dr. Backhaus spent time at Rose F. Kennedy Hospital, NYU Tisch Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, and Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Backhaus is a member of numerous professional organizations including, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the New Jersey Association of Pediatric Dentists, the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the Middlesex County Dental Society, and the American Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Backhaus is affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, as an active attending, of the Pediatric Dental Dept., as well currently holds the position of President for the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Backhaus is married to her colleague, Dr. Christopher Overcash and they reside in Monmouth County with their son, Preston, and their daughter, Emerson. When not in the office, Dr. Backhaus enjoys traveling, skiing, reading a good book, and spending time with family and friends.
