SUBURBAN MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION ALLIANCE

Traffic congestion in the Washington, DC, area is among the worst in the nation. Suburban communities in Maryland are all struggling with deteriorating roads and bridges,while dozens of unfunded transit, road, bicycle and pedestrian improvements that could make a real difference remain stuck in "neutral." The Suburban Maryland Transportation Alliance (SMTA) was formed to get us moving again, by providing expert analysis, public education and ongoing advocacy for a more efficient, safe and balanced transportation network in Suburban Maryland.
