Background:
Carla is a native of the Charlottesville, Va area who loves spending time with her family and friends. She studied Business Administration at Radford University and Piedmont Community College. Prior to joining our team at Move Better, Carla spent the past five years working in human resources at a major local retailer.
Her current focus is providing our patients with exceptional customer service while scheduling, collecting co-payments, and managing their patient accounts. Her positive attitude and a friendly smile are strong assets for our practice. Carla's favorite past times include watching her nephew's T-ball and football games, cheering for UVA baseball games, and supporting Relay for Life events.
Background:
Lindsay has always considered herself a native of Charlottesville, having been raised in the neighboring Orange County, Virginia. She graduated from Orange County High School in 2008 and completed her Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Virginia in May of 2012.
While attending college, she was very involved as a research assistant to Associate Professor Dr. Diane Whaley, with a concentration on sport and exercise psychology. She also devoted much of her time to Relay For Life at UVA as an executive committee member and chairperson.
Lindsay has transitioned her role at Move Better from a physical therapy intern to our office manager to provide oversight to all front-office administration functions including scheduling, ordering supplies, patient surveys and follow-up, insurance verifications, and patient account management. Her kind demeanor and pleasant rapport help to guide our patients through the administrative side of receiving care at Move Better.
Background:
Melinda Smith grew up in Greene County, Virginia, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Piedmont Virginia Community College with an Associate in Science, Accounting Degree in 2004.
She rapidly advanced within our practice to an office manager position and gained promotion to her current position as practice manager. As practice manager, she provides regulation oversight, operational efficiency, payroll services, statistical analysis, insurance billing and accounts payable, oversees the budget and financial functions, and provides long-term strategic planning for the practice.
Melinda lives in Greene County with her husband Jeff and her many cats. Her son Daniel lives in Northern Virginia where he works in the defense industry. Melinda enjoys spending her free time with her family, working in her flower garden, and bird-watching.
