NERSWN

The North East Research & Social Work Networking (NERSWN) is registered as society based in Kokrajhar district of Bodoland (Assam), India. Till 2007, NERSWN has been actively involved with developing village level health workers to control Malaria in the Bhutan foothills across four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council. It also was involved with promoting the traditional skill of Endi rearing & silk production among the local tribes with a view to secure livelihood. Due to emergence of NRHM, the NERSWN has reduced service delivery role, it now focuses in organizing capacities of communities to own and monitor the health programs in the villages. However, in view of the complete absence of mental health services, the NERSWN still is involved with care and treatment of mentally ill. Currently, the NERSWN is involved with six thematic areas viz. Health, Education, Livelihood, Women Empowerment, Advocating for the Rights of the Marginalized and Research & Networking. Under each..
