Old Growth Riverwood began in July 2007 as a dream business for Chris and Terrie Metz. A family owned and operated business, they recover and process reclaimed wood near downtown Wilmington in North Carolina. The day-to-day operations at Old Growth Riverwood are done by the owners and their few employees... Old Growth Riverwood is committed to being green and environmentally responsible and does not cut down any living trees to produce our products. All of our products are made from existing logs, water submerged logs, rough cut lumber, or timber reclaimed from old homesites. Recycling at Old Growth Riverwood is a daily process. Our reclaimed wood waste is reused to make a variety of products. Saw chips are recycled by offering them to local horse farmers (free of charge). Recycling is part of life at Old Growth Riverwood.
