OMAHA PAIN PHYSICIANS - Key Persons

Dr. Grzegorz Skiba

Dr. Skiba founded Omaha Pain in 2010. He has recently moved to Miami where he enjoys running, jet-skiing, and seeing the occasional patient. A Poland native, Dr. Skiba received his Medical Doctorate at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland. After completing an internship at his hometown hospitals, he began research in the field of liver diseases at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Great Britain. Since then, he has co-authored several scientific papers on liver transplantation. During that time, he also developed a strong interest in Anesthesiology. After moving to the United States and passing strict American licensing examinations, Dr. Skiba was admitted into an Anesthesiology residency program at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He completed his internship in General Surgery at the Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, TX. In his final years of the residency training, Dr. Skiba developed a strong interest in the management of pain that extends far beyond patient's experience of surgery and the operating room. Because of this commitment, he went on to obtain additional expertise in Pain Medicine by joining one of the country's top ACGME-accredited Pain Management fellowship training programs at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX. During this fellowship, Dr. Skiba co-authored an online Pain Management Course for Latin American Physicians.
