OLD ELK FARM

Old Elk Farm was created out of our concerns for endangered pollinators and wildlife, and as a place to practice gardening in a manner that helps maintain clean water, fertile earth, and a vibrant ecosystem. This site allows us to share our hobbies and passions with others. It is our platform to advocate for issues that are important to us, promote community events and favorite places, and inspire others to start planting for the pollinators in their own gardens... The Old Elk Farm is an apiary and pollinator garden site on the Lake Champlain island of Isle la Motte that shares seeds and inspiration with other gardeners to help the pollinators... We planted our gardens to provide continual blooms from a variety of flowering plants and trees to feed our honey bees, along with native Mason bees and Bumblebees. We have provided shelters for a variety of pollinators. Our property has become a refuge for migrating birds and butterflies as well as native wildlife.
