Pajaro Valley Fire Protection District was created in 1994 through a LAFCO recommended consolidation of two separate fire districts: Salsipuedes Fire Protection District and Freedom Fire Protection District. The district operated for three years on its own, and in 1997 entered into a co-operative agreement with Cal Fire for its administrative and staffing needs... The Pajaro Valley Fire Protection District Firefighters protect life, property and the environment through their direct involvement in fire prevention, firefighting, emergency medical care, hazardous materials mitigation, disaster response, public education and community service. We operate in a safe and fiscally responsible manner and continuously tailor ourselves to the needs of the community.
