Betsy joined the Peace House Board of Directors in 2022. She has been Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Sundance Institute since 2015. Before joining the Institute, Betsy spent more than 40 years in senior leadership roles-primarily in the role of either chief operating officer or chief financial officer-of both public and private-sector companies such as PetSmart, Designer Shoe Warehouse, REC Solar (where she was also CEO), and American Skiing Company (seven years based in Park City). Betsy has served on several boards of directors of nonprofits organizations, including Leadership California (founding board member) and PrimeTime Singapore. Locally, she currently holds positions on the boards of People's Health Clinic, Park City Chamber of Commerce (Chair of the Executive Board), and Park City Institute.
For close to a decade, Betsy lived in Singapore, where she served as Chief Financial Officer of Citigroup's business development group for its greater Asia business, and International Chief Financial Officer of Hubbell, Inc. She began her career with Deloitte & Touche CPAs.
Betsy holds an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall Graduate School of Business and earned her BA at UCLA. She is a member of Class 12 of Leadership Park City. She and her husband Ed moved to Park City in 2002.

Donald P. Horwitz is an attorney who represents clients in the Chicago, Illinois area. Donald Horwitz is recognized by peers and was selected to Super Lawyers for 2005 - 2006. This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.
Donald Horwitz chose to pursue a career in law after completing undergraduate studies. He attended Yale Law School and graduated in 1960. Donald Horwitz passed the bar exam and was admitted to legal practice in 1960.
He represents clients with Franchise / Dealership issues in Illinois.

Dr. Ember Conley has served students for over 25 years as a coach, middle school math teacher, high school principal, elementary principal, assessment director, and deputy superintendent, and superintendent. She was awarded the Arizona School Administrators Outstanding Dissertation in 2010 for her research in the learning styles of Native American Students. She currently serves on the Executive Board for the Horace Mann League and ASCD Legislative Committee. Additionally she is the Past President Utah Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (UASCD) and served on the National ASCD Nominations and Policy and Advocacy Committees and AASA Governing Board. She received her Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University, her elementary teaching certificate from Fort Lewis College, her Masters of Art in K-12 Administration and Policy from University Colorado-Denver, and her Education Doctorate in Curriculum and Leadership from Argosy University - Phoenix. She continues to be a child champion, social emotional expert, and change agent.
She loves to cook, play in the snow, spend time with her horses and dogs, and listen to Audible books. Oh, she loves her family beyond words can describe.

Elana is a retired private-practice therapist, specializing in marriage and family counseling for 28 years. She joined the Peace House Board of Directors in 2019. She has also served as past Chair and a member of the Peace House Spring Luncheon Committee and as a member of the Development and Fundraising Committee.
Elana developed and built the Gatesworth at One McKnight, an award-winning senior retirement community in St. Louis, MO. She has been involved in community service since the age of ten, is a community activist, and has served on many national and international boards of directors, including United Jewish Appeal and Hillel International. She also started and served on the board of the LEAD Foundation (Leadership Education and Development), an organization that provided information for the support of Israel and U.S. funding for Jewish Federations in more than 30 communities in the United States.
Elana was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1958. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has also lived in Chicago. She has a BA from Syracuse University and the Institute of Gerontology at St. Louis University. She earned her MSW and MBA at Washington University in St. Louis. She and her husband Avi moved to Park City as full-time residents in 2015. Elana has two children and four grandchildren and enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and cooking.

Harriet and Jimmy, her husband of 35 years, first came to Park City in 2005 as second-home owners. Throughout the past 16 years, they have spent time in Park City, eventually becoming full-time residents. Harriet and Jimmy own two Toyota dealerships on Long Island, NY, and have a home there where they still spend a few months each year.
Harriet has worked on behalf of her communities her entire adult life. She is dedicated to volunteerism, social service delivery, and philanthropy. She has served on the board of many nonprofit organizations and has held many leadership roles.
Originally from Baltimore, Harriet graduated from the University of Maryland Business School in 1985 with a BS in Marketing. She enjoys hiking, tennis, skiing, and traveling, and most importantly, she is the proud Grammy of Oliver, Madeleine, and Finn.

Jim is a retired IBM and Texas Instruments executive with 40 years of experience in the computer hardware and software industry, with particular focus on sales and marketing. He has been involved in two technology start-up entities.
Before serving on the Peace House Board of Directors, Jim volunteered with the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America. He joined the board of Peace House in 2010 and served as Board Chair from 2011 to 2015. In addition, he has chaired the Peace House Facilities Committee for the past ten years and served on the Peace House Capital Campaign Committee to raise funds for the building of the new community campus from 2017 to 2019.
Originally from Southern California, Jim graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Political Science and then received an MBA in Marketing from the University of Southern California. Jim and his wife Barbara lived in Park City for 20 years and recently relocated to Wasatch County.

Laura joined the Peace House Board of Directors in 2022. Her involvement with Peace House began in 2019, when she and her husband Jim assisted with the move from Marsac Avenue to the community campus on Round Valley Road. Since then, she has continued to organize the building weekly. Laura also served on the committee for the Walk on Main event in October 2021, joined the Development and Fundraising Committee in April 2021, and sits on the 2022 Spring Luncheon Committee.
A professional organizer for more than 30 years, Laura has clients all over the United States. She has applied her significant organizational skills to many spaces in the Peace House community campus. She has also helped with grassroots efforts, the largest being the development of a park system in Carmel, Indiana, which in 2021 was voted the number-one park system in the United States. She has served on many boards of directors, including park boards, school PTO boards, and neighborhood boards in New York, Indiana, Texas, and Georgia. Locally, Laura also sits on the Promontory Foundation Board of Directors and served a term as President of the Jeremy Ranch HOA from 2014 to 2020.
Laura and Jim moved to Park City in 2007. She has lived in 13 states, and Utah is her favorite. Two of her three children live in Park City with all seven of her grandchildren.

Patricia D. Kravtin is a consulting economist with a private practice specializing in telecommunications, energy, and cable regulation and markets. She is a leading expert in the area of broadband infrastructure and deployment, just compensation, and competition policy, and is frequently called to testify as an expert witness before state, federal, and international regulatory agencies and in courts on behalf of public and private sector clients. Ms. Kravtin has authored and coauthored a number of industry reports and white papers, and has served as technical advisor to regulatory commissions and their staffs. Prior to consulting, Ms. Kravtin held research positions in a number of federal agencies, including the Federal Communications Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Ms. Kravtin has been active in her community, both on the North Shore of Boston where she and her husband, Jonathan raised their family, as well as in Park City where they now reside, serving in key leadership positions on various boards of secular, educational, and religious institutions, including Chair of the Board, Governance, Finance Committee, Head Search, and Gala Committees of Hillel Day School in Marblehead, Massachusetts. She has held numerous elected and appointed positions on local governmental committees, including Town Meeting Member, Finance Committee, Rail Trail Committee, and Neighborhood Transportation Management Program Liaison. Ms. Kravtin is an avid outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, trail and road running, and a long time competitor in the New York Road Runners race circuit.

Polly Strasser has served on the Peace House Board of Directors for four years. She has a background in fundraising and has served in many volunteer positions through the years. She currently serves as Chair of the Peace House Development and Fundraising Committee. She enjoys working for Peace House and feels Peace House is great for our community.
Polly and her husband Buzz have lived in Park City for 26 years, nine of those full time. She and Buzz have served the community during this time and are members of Har Shalom. They came to Park City from Greensboro, NC, where their children and grandchildren still live. Polly enjoys skiing and all the outdoor activities that Park City offers.

Richard became a CPA and spent his early career with one of the large international accounting firms before working with several companies in accounting, finance, planning and investment banking positions.
He was elected to public office for 12 years and became active in public issues and political campaigns for many years. During his adult life he has served on numerous boards, commissions, councils, and committees serving his community.
Richard was raised in a small rural town in Ohio with three older sisters and graduated from The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1978. Richard and his wife Karen have been married for more than 41 years and have three sons and three grandsons. They moved to Park City after retirement in 2011. They are avid skiers and golfers and enjoy traveling.

Bill is the founder of Accelerum Advisors, which offers strategic and financial services to companies that face challenges as they grow. Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of EnergySolutions, a company that provides a full range of integrated services and solutions, including nuclear operations, decommissioning, decontamination, transportation, and research and engineering services across the entire nuclear fuel cycle. As Chief Financial Officer of health insurer MetLife Healthcare, he was responsible for preparing the company to go public, but after the company made a change in its strategic direction, his responsibility shifted to due diligence and valuation work that led to the merger of the company with Travelers Managed Care, creating one of the nation's largest healthcare companies.
During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of FHP International, Bill took the company public with its IPO, led its financial growth, raised additional capital through follow-on common stock offerings, and developed a comprehensive financial modeling and forecasting system to help manage the company's operations. As Chief Financial Officer of Western Digital, he re-listed the company's stock on the American Stock Exchange by taking it public again after its bankruptcy reorganization.
Bill holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UCLA and an MBA from California State University Long Beach.
