Dr. Andrew Lee

Dr. Andrew Lee received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Binghamton University in upstate NY. Following this, he then went on to receive his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in Long Island, NY. Dr. Lee completed his radiology residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident. He then went on to complete subspecialty training in Charlottesville, VA, where Dr. Lee was a musculoskeletal radiology fellow at the University of Virginia. Dr. Lee is currently board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology and joined Peninsula Radiology in the summer of 2022. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active and participates in a variety of outdoor activities, including running, hiking, and biking. Dr. Lee has also participated in endurance athletics, having completed an IRONMAN and multiple prior marathons and half-marathons. He lives with his wife and dog in Williamsburg.

Dr. Benjamin J. Pettus

Dr. Ben Pettus graduated summa cum laude from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor's in Biology and Chemistry. He received his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biopathology with thesis relevant to cancer therapeutics, and then earned his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Pettus completed his internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, and his post graduate training included a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology as well as a Fellowship in Mammography and Breast Imaging from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Pettus is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and is also a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Breast Imaging, Phi Delta Lambda PLNU Graduate Honor Society, and the American College of Radiology. Throughout his career, Dr. Pettus has attended and presented at numerous national and international meetings, and held various teaching positions. He has over twenty peer-reviewed research publications, co-authored and was awarded a National Institute of Health (NIH) Mass Spectrometry Shared Instrumentation Grant, and has filed for U.S. Provisional Patents related to findings from his research.

Dr. Eric D. Sturgill

Dr. Eric D. Sturgill received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy as a submarine officer aboard the USS Toledo (SSN-769). He attended medical school at "the West Point of military medicine" - the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, where he served as the student president of Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. After receiving his M.D., he completed a Transitional Internship at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) in Virginia. Dr. Sturgill then served as a Naval Flight Surgeon at Whiting Air Field, Florida, caring for the aviators flying at Helicopter Training Squadron Eighteen (HT-18). He returned to NMCP for radiology residency, ultimately serving as Chief Resident. He remained at NMCP following residency, where he served as an attending radiologist. He completed fellowship training in Body Imaging at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, where he worked in close collaboration with the American Institute of Radiologic Pathology (AIRP). Dr. Sturgill finished out his Navy career serving as chief of abdominal imaging at NMCP and associate professor of radiologic sciences for USUHS. He retired from active duty in 2018, joining Peninsula Radiological Associates. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. He specializes in abdominal imaging with an emphasis on gastrointestinal and genitourinary disorders, as well as oncologic imaging. Dr. Sturgill enjoys spending time with his wife and children at their home in Yorktown, VA. He enjoys hiking and traveling, especially throughout the U.S. National Park system.

Dr. James M. Grimson

Dr. James M. Grimson received his Bachelor's of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, where he graduated with Distinction. He furthered his education by pursuing his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. His post graduate training includes a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, serving as Chief Resident from 2003-2005, and again in 2007. Prior to joining Peninsula Radiological Associates, in 2011 he was the Medical Director of the Radiology Department, and the Lead Interpreting Physician of Breast Imaging at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. Dr. Grimson was an assistant professor for Radiology/Radiological Sciences at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. In addition, he has served as a Flight Surgeon at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, and as a F-14 Fighter Pilot for the United States Navy, and was qualified in F-14, F-16 and A-4 jets. he also served as an instructor pilot for three years at the Naval Fighter Weapons School, the real-life "TOPGUN". Dr. Grimson is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology, and is also a member of the American College of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. He has over 50 submissions to Medpix, a peer-reviewed medical image database and atlas. Dr. Grimson lives in Williamsburg, VA and enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter.

Dr. Jon Zachary Elliott

Dr. Jon Zachary Elliott received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in Biology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Elliott completed his Radiology Residency at Penn State/Hershey Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. After his Residency, Dr. Elliott was a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellow and Instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina. He served for the United States Navy as a Naval Flight Surgeon at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, and joined Peninsula Radiology Associates in 2010 as a Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Specialist. Dr. Elliott is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and is also a member of numerous professional societies including the Skeletal Society of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the American Alliance of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology. He has published many articles and given various presentations across the country. When he is not practicing Radiology, he spends his time playing sports, including golf, basketball, running, cycling, hitting the ski slopes and riding waves on his surfboard. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters.

Dr. Kelly D. Gage

Dr. Kelly D. Gage earned a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating magna cum laude. Also a Distinguished Graduate from R.O.T.C, he went on to earn his Medical Doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. After completing a transitional internship at Malcom Grow Medical Center at Andrews Air Force base, he served as a flight surgeon for the 39th Air Lift Group at Dyess AFB. Dr. Gage then completed his radiology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, where he served as chief resident. During his 24 year Air Force Career, he deployed twice in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and served as the radiology department commander during his assignments to Joint Base Langely-Eustis and Royal Air Force Lakenheath. Dr Gage is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and has been a member of the the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. When he is not practicing radiology, Dr Gage enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, playing guitar and rock climbing.

Dr. Ryan P. Holste

Dr. Ryan P. Holste is a graduate of Old Dominion University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his medical degree from the St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed internship and diagnostic radiology residency at Mercer university/Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah Ga. In addition, Dr. Holste completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Geisinger Health System in Danville PA. Dr. Holste is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology, and is also certified in advanced cardiac life support. Interests include minimally invasive biopsy, diagnostic arteriography and venography, embolization of hemorrhage in the setting of trauma and gastrointestinal bleeding, pharmocomechanical thrombolysis for treatment of pulmonary embolism and DVT, interventional oncology including chemoembolization, radioembolization and ablation of tumors and vascular access including medical port placement and dialysis access.

Dr. Steven M. Irby

Dr. Steven M. Irby graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1978 with a Bachelor in Engineering Science. He received his medical degree from Emory University in 1982. Following his graduation, he completed an internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center and then attended Navy Flight Surgeon School at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute. Dr. Irby then served as a flight surgeon with the first Marine Amphibious Brigade in Kaneohe, HI. He completed his radiology residency at Naval Hospital in Oakland, California, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Irby joined the team at Peninsula Radiological Associates in 2000, where he practices General Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, MR, Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Nuclear Medicine, and Non-Vascular Interventional. Dr. Irby is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds a license in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. Dr. Irby currently serves as the President of Peninsula Radiological Associates. Dr. Irby lives in Hampton and is still pretty active for an old dude. He enjoys sailing and windsurfing with his wife.

Dr. Thomas A. Pincus

Dr. Thomas A. Pincus received his medical degree from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center. He completed an internship in general surgery. He went on to finish his Residency training at the University of Texas in diagnostic radiology, where he also completed his Fellowship in Neuroradiology. Dr. Pincus is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds medical licenses in Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas. He joined the team at Peninsula Radiology in 2002 where he is currently the medical director of the department of radiology and continues to practice in the field. His special interests include Neuroimaging and head and neck imaging. In 2009, Dr. Pincus was awarded the "Top Docs" Award.

Dr. Timothy P. Farrell

Dr. Timothy P. Farrell graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with an A.B. in Biology. He received his M.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1979. Following medical school, Dr. Farrell completed internship, radiology residency and Vascular and Interventional Fellowship at the Pennsylvania State University Hospital. He then served three years on Active Duty in the United States Navy, where he was the first Naval Officer to perform image-guided interventional procedures while on staff at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. After practicing radiology in Pennsylvania for over two decades, Dr. Farrell joined the Riverside Health System as a radiologist in 2008. Dr. Farrell is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology, and has also been an active member several medical societies, including the Radiology Society of North America, Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology and American Roentgen Ray Society. In addition, he is Councilor for the American College of Radiology and has held several other offices for that organization. He has served as president of the Pennsylvania Radiological Society and also for the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Farrell was honored to become a Fellow of the American College of Radiology in 2002 and received the Pennsylvania Radiological Society Gold Medallion Award in 2006 for outstanding service to radiology. Dr. Farrell has held various teaching positions at Pennsylvania State University, the National Naval Medical Center and Harrisburg Hospital. He has also had long-term service as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Reserves. Dr. Farrell has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and presented papers for Radiological Societies. Dr. Farrell has wide-experience in radiology, having performed all kinds of image-guided procedures, including deep-tissue biopsies, breast biopsies, drainage procedures and vascular intervention for decades. He has also received extensive additional training in ultrasound, nuclear medicine and CT. Dr. Farrell currently resides in Williamsburg with his wife Barbara. During his free time he enjoys spending time with his two sons, Kevin and John. He also is passionate about classical numismatics, history, politics, music and reading, and on sunny afternoons you can find him perfecting his golfing skills on the green.

Dr. William H. Marshall

Dr. William H. Marshall, M.D. graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University. He obtained his medical degree from George Washington University Medical School. Dr. Marshall completed internship training at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He continued his training with a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In addition, he completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Marshall served in the United States Army from 1983 to 1994, which two of those years were spent as a Brigade Flight Surgeon at Fort Hood, Texas. He received numerous awards, including the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal and a Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Marshall joined the team at Peninsula Radiology in 2015 and is the radiology medical director at Shore Memorial Hospital. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds licenses in Virginia, Colorado, Texas and Wisconsin. In his spare time, Dr. Marshall enjoys running, reading, cooking as well as teaching.
