Judge Johnny D Houston, Jr. was first appointed as Red Bank City Judge in the year 2000. He has been elected to this position for three successive, eight year terms in 2006, 2014 and 2022. Judge Houston is originally from west Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986 and from Memphis State University Law School in 1989, where he was a member of the law review. He has been a Chattanooga area resident since 1989. Prior to becoming judge, he was president of the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce in 1991 and coached several sports teams in Red Bank and North Chattanooga. In addition to his judicial responsibilities, Judge Houston is a full-time attorney and maintains a law office in the City of Red Bank where he is the senior partner at Houston and Alexander, PLLC. The law firm primarily handles criminal matters and personal injury cases. Judge Houston has been licensed in Tennessee since 1989 and in the state of Georgia since 1990.
