RYAN CALLISON

Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, my love for design started in high school. After taking several entry level classes, I decided to focus on being an orthopedic surgeon and just doing design on the side. Well, boredom of sitting in classes set in and I followed my heart and hobby of creating design in all different types of mediums... During my collegiate days, I was a hip-hop DJ at several nightclubs in Lubbock. I would design flyers here and there for club promoters but was still honing my craft and taking on projects for free to help build up some type of portfolio. After a few years I decided to quit being a DJ and seek full-time employment as a designer and started my career at the Lubbock Convention & Visitors Bureau and Lubbock Economic Development Alliance. Projects started simple and mundane but after a while I realized that if we stopped paying an advertising agency large sums of cash, we could cut costs and get more accomplished.
