Alex King

Alex is a Prep for Prep program alumnus who came to Saint Ann's in ninth grade. He currently works as a Strategy and Operations Manager at Google Fiber. Alex began his private sector career as a financial analyst in the energy infrastructure industry, after serving as Corps Member of Teach For America where he taught third grade. He holds a B.A. in History from Yale University and an M.B.A from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Alex also serves as a member of the Saint Ann's Alumni Advisory Committee. He joined the Board in 2020.

Annie Bosworth

The Annie Bosworth Library at Saint Ann's School serves approximately 720 students in grades 4 through 12, as well as over 200 faculty and staff. The collection includes approximately 25,000 books, videos, and other materials, and subscriptions to dozens of periodicals and electronic databases. Information about the Lower School Library (serving Kindergarten through 3rd grade) is available at: Lower School Library. Within the Annie Bosworth Library, there is a Juvenile Section for books geared towards the younger members of our community. However, all students are permitted to check out any material. Librarians are available to discuss the choice with the students.

Ashley Mathis

After graduating from Saint Ann's, Ashley earned her B.A. in Sociology from Boston College and her M.Ed in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She develops and facilitates diversity, inclusion, and social justice trainings for nonprofit and community-based organizations. Previously, Ashley was Program Director for a Beacon Community Center at Center for Family Life, a neighborhood-based social services organization in Sunset Park. She serves on the Advocacy Council at the Citizens' Committee for Children. Ashley began her Young Alumni trustee term in 2020.

Carolyn Katz

Carolyn is the parent of one current Saint Ann's student and one graduate. Carolyn is Executive Chairman of Author and Company, a publisher, marketer and retailer of eBooks. She was previously a principal at Providence Equity Partners and a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. Carolyn has served on the boards of several public companies and non-profit organizations, most notably SurvivorCorps, an NGO which helps landmine and other survivors in post-conflict situations around the world. Carolyn graduated from Princeton University, where she earned a B.A. in Classical Languages. She has served on the Board since 2013.

Cathy Fuerst

Chinyere Odim

Chinyere is a doctoral student in the field of Sociology at Brown University. Her research focuses on the intersections of class, race, and power within elite independent schools. Chinyere is also an educational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consultant and previously taught at Deerfield Academy. Chinyere holds a B.A. from Swarthmore College, an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Chinyere serves on both the Alumni Council and Black Alumni Network Executive Committee at Swarthmore College. Chinyere began her Young Alumni trustee term in 2020.

Clifford Thomas

Clifford is a Prep for Prep program alumnus who came to Saint Ann's in seventh grade. He is currently Senior Director of Public Partnerships at Relay Graduate School of Education. After graduating from Harvard College in 2005, Cliff taught science in New York City public schools and in 2010 founded Invictus Preparatory Charter School. He serves on the Board of First Generation Harvard Alumni and holds an ​M.A. from Pace University in Secondary Education and Teaching. Cliff has served on the Board since 2015.

Crystal Bobb-Semple - CEO, Founder

Crystal is a current Saint Ann's parent as well as the parent of a graduate. Crystal is the Founder and CEO of the company that operates Camp Half-Blood, Brooklyn, and its related programs. Previously, she was the Owner and Operator of Brownstone Books, an independent bookstore in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Crystal has served on the board of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation. A graduate of Hampton University, she also holds an M.P.A. from the University of Delaware and a Doctorate in Education and Organization Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bobb-Semple joined the Board in 2017.

Dan Stone

Daniel is the parent of three current Saint Ann's students. He is one of the co-founders of Ionic Capital Management. Dan was formerly a Managing Director at Highbridge Capital Management. Dan holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College. He has served on the Board since 2007.

Daniel Bergner

Daniel has been a Saint Ann's English teacher and is the parent of two Saint Ann's alumni. He was a Saint Ann's student from 1967-72 and is an honorary member of the class of 1977. Dan is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and the author of a novel and six books of narrative nonfiction. He is a graduate of Brown University and holds an M.F.A. in writing from Columbia University. Dan has served on the Board since 2005.

Fiona currently works at Google as a Software Engineer focusing on natural language processing for the Google Assistant. After graduating from Saint Ann's, Fiona attended Princeton University where she received her B.S.E. in Computer Science and minored in Linguistics and Statistics/Machine Learning. Prior to her current role, Fiona worked at YouTube and on Google Search. Fiona began her Young Alumni trustee term in 2022.

Ia Andrews

Ia is a current Saint Ann's parent as well as the parent of a Saint Ann's graduate. She is a practicing psychologist in downtown Brooklyn. Prior to embarking on her career as a psychologist, Ia taught in the Saint Ann's Lower School for seven years. She also serves on the board of Brooklyn Community Housing and Services. Ia holds a B.A. from Trinity College-Hartford and a PsyD from New York University. She joined the Board in 2018.

Jared Della Valle

Jared is the parent of two current Saint Ann's students. He is the founder and CEO of Alloy Development and has worked as an architect and real estate professional in New York City for over twenty-five years. Jared also serves as Vice Chair of the Van Alen Institute, a nonprofit that helps create equitable cities through inclusive design, and sits on the boards of the Architecture League of New York, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, and the MetroTech BID. A member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Jared has taught at Columbia University, Syracuse University, Washington University, Parsons School of Constructed Environments and Lehigh University. Jared holds a B.A. from Lehigh University and Master's degrees in both Architecture and Construction Management from Washington University in St. Louis. Jared joined the Saint Ann's board in 2022.

Josh Epstein

Josh is the parent of three current Saint Ann's students. He is an executive, entrepreneur and investor creating innovative businesses at the intersection of media and technology. Currently, Josh is building Likewise, a content discovery platform incubated by Bill Gates. He previously led corporate strategy at Viacom, was part of the formative team at ad tech pioneer aQuantive acquired by Microsoft, and was founder and CEO of Periodic, a video news platform. Josh received an A.B. from Princeton University and M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He currently serves on the Board of BRIC. Josh joined the Saint Ann's Board in 2021.

Julia Kahr

Julia is the parent of three current Saint Ann's students. Julia is a Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group, where she focuses on private equity investments in the healthcare sector. Julia currently also serves on the boards of Sheltering Arms and BRIC. She received a B.A. in Classical Civilization from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. Julia joined the Board in 2020.

Kavita Patel

Kavita is the parent of two current Saint Ann's students. Kavita is Chief of Radiology at Lenox Health Greenwich Village. She received her undergraduate degree from Yale University, her M.D. from SUNY Downstate Medical College, and completed fellowships at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Duke University Medical Center. Kavita joined the Board in 2021.

Kit Tollerson

Kit attended Saint Ann's from preschool through twelfth grade. He is currently a Partner at TNTP, a non-profit dedicated to ending educational inequity and creating pathways for socio-economic mobility. Kit began his career teaching in New Orleans through Teach for America, and was Founding Principal of an elementary school in the California Bay Area. Kit earned an undergraduate degree in public policy from Princeton University and an M.A. in school leadership from Columbia University. Kit also serves on Manhattan Community Board 4, which represents Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen. Kit joined the board in 2022.

Luke Fichthorn

Luke is a current Saint Ann's parent. He is an investor focused on adaptive reuse projects in and around brownstone Brooklyn. Luke's nonprofit work includes serving as a trustee at The Noguchi Museum in Long Island City. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. Luke joined the Board in 2018.

Marjorie Coleman

Marjorie is the parent of two Saint Ann's graduates and the grandparent of three current students. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College and Fordham Law School, Marj's legal career focused on First Amendment law, advising newspapers and broadcast journalists. She later served as Director of Legal Services for New York News Inc., then-publisher of The Daily News. Marj has served on the Board since 1995.

Mary Watson

Mary is both an alumna and the parent of a Saint Ann's graduate. Mary has been a Senior Attorney at the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen, and Hamilton since 1999 and now serves as the Director of Professional Development for the firm. Before practicing law, Mary was Chair of the Classics and Asian Languages Department at Saint Ann's, a Latin and Language Structures teacher, and Director of the After School Program. Mary served on the Board from 1996-2005, then spent two years as the Dean of Faculty at Saint Ann's before returning to the Board in 2008. She holds a B.A. from Amherst College and a J.D. from Yeshiva University, Cardozo School of Law.

Mino Capossela

Mino is the parent of two Saint Ann's graduates. Mino is an investor and was previously a partner at Goldman Sachs. He is a trustee of Scripps College and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hero's Journey Foundation. Shahed Fakhari Larson

Shahed is the parent of two current Saint Ann's students. She is General Partner and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Coatue Management. Shahed began her career as an M&A attorney at Skadden Arps and spent over a decade at Brunswick Group, a strategic communications firm. She currently also serves on the boards of America Needs You and the Center for Art, Research and Alliances. Shahed received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She joined the Board in 2021.

Tamara Belinfanti

Tamara is the parent of three current Saint Ann's students. Tammy is a Professor of Law at New York Law School. Her scholarship focuses on corporate governance systems design and the nature of corporations. Tammy holds a B.S. from the University of Florida and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She also serves as a trustee of the Brooklyn Museum. Tammy joined the Board in 2018.

Tony Charuvastra

Tony is the parent of three current Saint Ann's students. Tony is a practicing psychiatrist who works primarily with children and adolescents. He is also a teacher, working with residents as Assistant Professor at New York University Medical Center in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and with undergraduates through NYU's College of Arts and Sciences. Tony received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University, his adult psychiatry training at UCLA-West Los Angeles VA training program, and his child and adolescent psychiatric training at the NYU Child Study Center. He joined the Board in 2017.
