Ted and Sandy Wynhofen are "High School Sweethearts" that fell in love at Saultfleet High School in East Hamilton (Go Ti-Cats Go). After marrying in 1969, they became the proud parents of Clifton, Ted Jr., Kimberley and Leslie. The Wynhofens settled in the then small town of Grimsby, where Ted and Sandy practiced Real Estate for over twenty years. In 1992, a restaurant opportunity in the West End of Guelph presented itself. Ted and Sandy decided to leave their long-time Niagara Escarpment Stompin' Grounds and tackle the new restaurant endeavour. It didn't take long for the entire family to fall in love with Wellington County and surrounding areas. All of the children actively took part in establishing R U Serious as a local eatery and pub, but it was the two youngest daughters that developed a true passion for the industry and the people. Eighteen years later, and with the redevelopment of the oldest mall in Guelph, R U Serious has done everything possible to remain true to its roots..
