Brett B. Ernst

Brett B. Ernst, M.D., is a graduate of Wayne State Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic and is a board certified ophthalmologist. He moved to Harrisburg with his wife Mariann and daughters Alexandra and Victoria in 1993. Dr. Ernst is Chief of Ophthalmology for Pinnacle Health Systems and is also assistant clinical professor at Penn State University School of Medicine. Dr. Ernst is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract Surgeons. Dr. Ernst has been named a Top 50 Surgeon by Sightpath Medical.

David E. Paden

David E. Paden, O.D., is a native of south central Pennsylvania. He graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1996 and received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University - University Park campus in 2000 as well as his doctorate in optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2005. He completed a one year residency in referral-based optometry with an emphasis in ocular disease and refractive eyecare at OMNI Eye Services of New Jersey in 2006. Dr. Paden lives in Carlisle with his wife Jenny and three daughters Kaylee, Hannah, and Elianna. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing trumpet, reading John Grisham books and the Bible, biking, and playing basketball. An interesting fact about Dr. Paden is he played in the Penn State Blue Band for 4 years while attending there.

Gautam Mishra

Gautam Mishra, M.D., was brought up in Syracuse, New York, where he received his primary education. He then completed his bachelor's degree at Boston College and went on to graduate from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Mishra served as Chief Resident during his residency in Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University, North Carolina. He received his training in cornea and refractive surgery at Albany Medical Center and joined Schein Ernst Mishra Eye in 2006. Dr. Mishra is board certified in ophthalmology and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the Penn State College of Medicine. He lives in Harrisburg with his wife Mridula and daughter Anjali. Dr. Mishra has performed thousands of surgeries since he began operating in 2004 and joined Schein Ernst Mishra Eye in 2006, where he now serves as Vice President of the company. Dr. Mishra is passionate about restoring sight to patients and improving their way of life. In his free time, you can find him traveling internationally with family, learning new technologies or practicing yoga.

James D. Herbst

James D. Herbst, O.D. is a native of Central Pennsylvania. He is a 1982 Graduate of Camp Hill High School and a Graduate of Gettysburg College with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Biology. He received his Optometric degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1990, and went into solo practice in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Dr. Herbst joined Dr. Schein in practice part time in 1991 and was also the staff Optometrist for Resident Eyecare Associates at Messiah Village. He merged his practice with Schein Ernst Mishra Eye in 2002. He and his wife Kim live in Mechanicsburg. They have two children, Allison and David.

Jeffrey D. Miller

Jeffrey D. Miller, O.D., has been in practice as an optometrist since 1993. A graduate of Penn State University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Miller came on staff with Schein Ernst Mishra Eye in 1998. Prior to practicing, he completed externships at the Eye Foundation of Utah, the office of Robert J. Morrison, O.D., and the William-Feinbloom Low Vision Center in Philadelphia. In addition to offering comprehensive eye care to his patients, Dr. Miller is certified in refractive surgery co-management (AST and LASIK). Dr. Miller lives in Mechanicsburg and has two sons, Austin and Spencer. In his free time, he enjoys cooking for friends and family and mountain biking.

Shelby Sieber

Shelby Sieber, O.D., received his undergraduate degree from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1995. He began practicing in Camp Hill and over a period of years became partner and eventual owner of his own private practice. Dr. Sieber merged his practice with Schein Ernst Mishra Eye Associates in 2012 and moved to our Lemoyne location. He lives in the Dillsburg area with his wife Audra and their two sons Spencer and Aaron. In addition to offering comprehensive eye care to his patients, he enjoys the treatment of Dry Eye Disease and is excited about the new treatments and technologies being utilized to help patients that suffer from this condition. Dr. Sieber is committed to his church and allows his faith to guide his life. He enjoys spending time with family and is an avid outdoorsman - enjoying nature photography and hunting.
