SANTA CRUZ VALLEY HERITAGE ALLIANCE

The Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area advocates our region's valuable heritage. As a non-regulatory designation made by Congress, the Santa Cruz Valley Heritage Alliance (the local non-profit which oversees management of the SCVNHA) takes a grassroots, community-focused approach to support historic preservation, natural resource conservation, recreation, heritage tourism, and educational projects. We preserve and advance the region's living heritage so that landscapes, sites, livelihoods, traditions, values, and stories can stimulate our economy and build community. Knowledge and respect for this heritage contribute to a sense of place and improve the quality of our lives... We leverage funds and long-term partnerships for projects that foster pride in our contribution to America's history and an enduring stewardship ethic for this 3,300-square-mile landscape...
