The Plum was established in 1967 when founder, now retired, Isaac Mishkin, made the bold move to expand his family's millinery business and transition into women's bridge fashion. Isaac used his knowledge of buying and selling women's fashion to open "The Plum" in the heart of downtown Harrisburg, PA. Due to great success, he then opened the second Plum in Camp Hill PA, which now since 2020 the only location. Collectively, our stores have been dressing not only local patrons but also out-of-towners who specifically seek out our wares. As a result, The Plum has been one of the few retailers to thrive through every challenge that Harrisburg has endured, past and present. In 1992, Isaac's daughter Kirsten (current owner) kept the family tradition and joined The Plum. Her business degree, coupled with her background in fashion, gave the stores the edge that was needed.
