Helga Wessing is founding partner of Wessing & Partner. Prior to this, she was a partner in one of the large German commercial law firms until 1997, and then worked as a lawyer in the law firm Wessing II - Verjans.
Helga Wessing studied law at the University of Cologne and medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. Since 2005 she is a licensed physician.
As a lawyer, Helga Wessing is particularly specialised in medical criminal law. For several years now, she has been increasingly involved in voluntary work as a doctor for charitable purposes.

Silke Baumanns advises and represents individuals and companies in all areas of white-collar crime law. A main focus of her work as a lawyer is in the area of labour criminal law. This also includes advising companies in the criminal investigation of industrial accidents. She also accompanies criminal proceedings with international implications. Silke Baumanns has been working for the law firm Wessing & Partner since her admission to the bar in 2011.
She studied law in Düsseldorf and completed her legal clerkship at the Mönchengladbach Regional Court from 2007 to 2011. Tobias Thielmann is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf.
He studied law at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf with a stay the Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen. He wrote his doctoral thesis on "Forced medication in child and adolescent psychiatry"; whilst preparing his doctorate he also completed a stay at the Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Science at Cambridge University. He completed his legal clerkship at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court.

Dr Volodymyr Izrailevych is a lawyer and tax law specialist. He specialises in the area of criminal tax law, white-collar crime and tax litigation.
Volodymyr Izrailevych advises on the identification of commercial and criminal tax law risks, tax corrections and voluntary declarations. He represents and defends companies and individuals in criminal and administrative fine proceedings as well as in tax dispute proceedings.

John Paul Fürus is a lawyer and tax consultant. He is also a certified lawyer for tax law and for criminal law. He defends and advises companies and individuals with a focus on insolvency and criminal tax law as well as tax litigation. John Paul Fürus is a lecturer in criminal law at University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Before joining Wessing & Partner, John Paul Fürus worked for various medium-sized law and tax consulting firms in the areas of insolvency law and criminal insolvency law, criminal tax law and tax litigation.
John Paul Fürus studied law at the University of Cologne and completed his legal clerkship in Aachen. After being admitted to the bar, he initially worked as an editor and product developer at a publishing house in Bonn for specialist tax law literature.

Jonathan Rüschendorf advises and represents both individuals and companies in the field of white-collar crime. He is also active in the area of internal investigations and supports his clients in compliance issues.
Jonathan Rüschendorf studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the University of Edinburgh with a focus on business and corporate law. He completed his legal clerkship at the Düsseldorf District Court. At the Ruhr-University Bochum he is doing his doctorate on a topic of business criminal law
Prior to joining Wessing & Partner, Jonathan Rüschendorf worked as a research assistant with the same law firm. Subsequently, he started as a legal assistant in the Investigations department of the Düsseldorf office of a major German law firm. Jonathan Rüschendorf has been a lawyer with Wessing & Partner since 2018.

Philipp Butler studied at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf with a stage at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Wuppertal. At LMU Munich he is working on a doctorate regarding a topic of international tax law.
In 2019, he was admitted to the bar at the Düsseldorf Bar Association, and joined Wessing & Partner.
