Umaima Khaliquzzaman is a well-known entity in the finance industry, with a career spanning over three decades. Beginning her journey in 1989 at American Express, where she held the position of Head of Card Acquisition for Pakistan. In this tenure, Umaima successfully marketed the Amex Card to high-net-worth individuals and large corporate entities. She managed a large team of professionals, providing them with the apt training and leadership to help achieve sales targets. Umaima received a gold medal from the Chairman of American Express for her training on Customer Focus Skills.
In 1998, Umaima was chosen as the Manager of Priority Banking by American Express Bank - Pakistan, given her career trajectory amongst high-net-worth families and individuals. She took on the responsibility of developing a client book, leading the sales team, and overseeing marketing activities alongside product development.
In 2006, embracing a new challenge, Umaima relocated to the UAE as the Director of Private Banking with the Royal Bank of Canada. Two years later, she joined Emirates NBD Bank as the Senior Director of Private Banking, covering Europe and CIS countries. In this role, she assisted clients in estate planning and created structures for client families. She managed complex situations related to tax and fiduciary services with the support of legal professionals.
Umaima provided tailored solutions to her clients and effectively managed assets worth over USD 1 billion. Her outstanding performance led to her being awarded by the bank, for booking Emirates NBD Note of USD 100 million with an 8-year maturity.
After spending sixteen years with Emirates NBD Bank, Umaima joined Index & Cie Limited. She worked with the asset management company for two years before deciding to work independently, leveraging her experience in the UAE and other markets.
Currently, she serves as a board member of Alyco Advisory DMCC and the COO of DV Solicitors UK. She leverages her experience with high-net-worth clientele alongside her close ties to the legal sector throughout her years in finance.
Umaima has attended numerous international conferences and training sessions to enhance her global experience. In addition to her professional achievements, she actively engages in constructive work for underprivileged communities in Pakistan.
