MAC - Key Persons
Barry first qualified in his field back in 1994 and joined the team at MAC in 2016 as our Building Consultancy Director. He established our Building Consultancy Division and specialises in Contract Administration and Employer's Agent services, dilapidations, party wall surveying, building inspections, dispute resolution and professional consultancy.
Joining MAC in 2013, David began his journey as an Assistant Cost Manager whilst completing his degree. He is now an Associate Director and is based in our Sheffield office and works across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial property, infrastructure, office, and retail. He specialises in providing our clients with Employer's Agent, Project Management and Quantity Surveying services.
Jon joined MAC in 2016 with over ten years' experience of working in public policy management and the development of schools' estates. He heads up our Education team and works with academies nationally on all aspects of estates and construction management support, including advice on Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) and School Condition Allocation. Since joining MAC, Jon has worked with over 100 academies and generated over £80m CIF funding. As part of his role he also oversees our governances and compliance activities.
Experienced Chartered Building Surveyor and Director with 40 year's experience of working in the construction and property industry. Skilled in Design, Specification, Building Surveying, Tendering, Contract & Project Management, Cost Management and Space Planning. Extensive experience in the private and public sector, including Education, Health, Social Housing and commercial projects. Working in a multi disciplined business providing Building Consultancy, Cost Management, Project Management and Health & Safety consultancy services.
Joseph has over ten years' experience in providing building consultancy solutions. He joined our Building Consultancy division in 2016 as a Senior Surveyor. Based in Sheffield, Joseph works with clients across a wide range of sectors including commercial, education, industrial and residential sectors. He is a Chartered building Surveyor and became an Associate Director at MAC in 2018 following this he became Director in 2020.

Matthew joined the MAC team in 2013 as an Assistant Cost Manager. He has since spent his time working closely with our retail, education, and heritage clients to provide a range of dedicated Cost Management solutions. Matthew is based in our London office and became a Director at MAC in 2020.
Nick is a Director within the Building Consultancy department managing the Leeds and Manchester teams. With 20+ years' experience in the consultancy sector, Nick has a wealth of experience in both project management and ‘traditional' Building Surveying professional services, specialising in dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, party wall and project monitoring. Nick oversees a broad range of technical services for a wide variety of clients from both the private and public sectors.

Nicolas Maari joined MAC as Director of Employers Agent and Design Services in 2022.
Based in London and operating nationwide he specialises in Public Sector projects, bringing more than 15 years' experience to the role having worked for several large national and international design and consultancy practices.
His expertise sees him lead teams of Architects, Employers Agents, Town Planners and Interior Designers, whilst overseeing the strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, and completing the framework agreements on a myriad of impressive projects.
Nicolas has an Advanced Diploma in Architecture (Part III), a Diploma in Architecture, and a
BA Architecture qualification. He is a Chartered Member of RIBA Northwest.
Phil has over 17 years' experience of working in construction consultancy and joined MAC in 2015 as a Senior Cost Manager. Over the last five years Phil has developed a strong relationship with our retail, distribution, education and residential clients nationwide and provides Project, Programme and Cost Management services. He became an Associate Director at MAC in 2017 and is based in Milton Keynes.

Having over 20 years' experience of working in construction consultancy, Piers joined MAC in 2011 as an Associate Director. He is based in our London office and mainly assists retail and commercial clients across the South of England with Quantity Surveying and Project and Programme Management solutions and services.
Director Richard Bellis joined MAC's senior management team in 2021, bringing more than 18 years' experience to the role working for both SME and International PLC Consultancies.
Joining as part of the firm's Cost and Project Management team, and appointed to head up our Manchester office, he has an extensive and varied background which spans most construction sectors.
Richard has particular expertise in the delivery of cost and project management services for private developers in the industrial and commercial arenas.
