Khaled graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1998 majoring in Political Sciences and International Relations. He attended and successfully completed the Maritime Law Short Course held by the Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton in 1996. He later attended North's Annual Residential Course in P&I Insurance and Loss Prevention in 2000. Languages: Arabic, English and French Khaled joined Abou Ali in 2000. With his extensive experience in P&I commercial matters, he is currently responsible for Abou Ali's Section I. Section I performs innumerable functions and specialized tasks, including the elaboration of ecological studies, estimation of damages, adjustment of physical and consequential losses, among other services. Section I is active in negotiating claims, and as a last resource, supervises the legal actions arising from a trial.

Mohamed Gamal Abou Ali

Mohamed Gamal Abou Ali acquired and possesses particular experience and expertise in the areas of maritime, shipping and transport law and regulation. He is Licensed to appear before the Supreme Court of Egypt (Admitted since 1952). He is a member of the Port Said Chamber of Shipping (Former Chairman of the Board). He is the founder and senior partner of Abou Ali. From 1952, Gamal Abou Ali practised at the Port Said office through 1964 when he was employed by the Suez Canal Authority finally managing two of its affiliated companies, from which he gained personal experience of its operations. Since 1976, Gamal Abou Ali specialised in shipping and maritime work both in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He has contributed to the establishment of a number of Court of Cassation and Supreme Constitutional Court precedents in the field of maritime law and regulations. Some of these precedents have been codified by the legislature in the currently applicable Maritime Law No. 8 of 1990. Mohamed Gamal represents a growing number of the world's leading Protection and Indemnity insurance associations around the world, including Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Assoc. Tarek Abou Ali, a licensed attorney in Egypt, joined Abou Ali in 1986 and is currently the claims director. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Ain Shams University, accredited postgraduate studies in business administration from the American University in Cairo, and an LLB from Cairo University. Mr Abou Ali has vast experience and renowned ability to handle all aspects in shipping-related claims including containerized cargo, pollution, collisions, salvage, total loss, groundings, shipboard fires to general shipping disputes and environmental claims. He regularly represents clients' interests in matters involving Port Authorities, the Suez Canal Authority, Government Age nc ie s and Departments and the Environmental Affairs Agency. In addition to his marine, shipping and ports-related work, he is trained and qualified as a le ga l ac co un ta nt and has worked extensively in the financial aspects of sh ip pi ng operations, supplies, finance and claims.
