ADVANCED SADDLE FITTING

s the saddle is the interface between Rider and Horse, it is imperative that it fits well. When wearing a pair of well fitting boots or shoes, we never think about them - we think of everything else instead. A Professional Saddlefitter's aim is to achieve the same good fit for both Horse and Rider, starting with correct assessment of Rider, Horse and Saddle. The Saddlefitter's skill focus is to: (a) Get maximum performance out of the Horse on the day, as the Horse is presented, and (b) Through advice to the owner on the Horse's anatomy and mandatory checks which the saddle must pass, help to ensure that the horse has no ‘down time' with a sore back and the owner doesn't have to spend money on therapy. Where possible, a ridden test must be viewed to check Rider/Horse and Saddle are all balanced and working correctly. A written report is provided showing relevant horse measurements and remarks, changes made to the Saddle along with any references deemed necessary for continued good..
