While growing up in Chicago, I became fascinated with film at an early age. I was a five year old in love with a VCR. Blockbusters, black and white classics, I tried to see it all. Even if my parents had to cover my eyes at some parts. (Especially when my parents tried to cover my eyes)... A childhood love of photography and painting began to develop my skills of telling stories visually. To expand the stories beyond a single frame I moved to New York City to study film at NYU. Taking as many cinematography classes as I could, I was among the last generation of filmmakers to learn how to make movies on a negative while also being given a head start on the digital revolution.
