Alexander Eblen joined Sotheby's in 2017 as a Senior Specialist in the department. In his role, he works within the greater New York metropolitan area and often travels to the South Atlantic region to assist clients in all aspects of acquisition, consignment and appraisal services.
Mr Eblen's 18-year career has been spent entirely within the gem and jewelry industry. As one of the only jewelry specialists to have worked in the laboratory field on the identification and research of colored gems, he brings a unique perspective to the subject. Following time in the wholesale gem trade and retail arenas, he has been active in the jewelry auction market for the last 11 years. As an expert on the international colored stone market, he is a frequent lecturer on gem origin, current treatments and valuation. He also consults with collectors on the buying and selling of important gems both traditional and obscure.
A Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, Mr. Eblen received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Illinois. He is a USPAP Compliant Appraiser.

As Head of Sale for Magnificent Jewels, Catharine Becket oversees New York's marquee auctions, bringing the most significant jewels to market to achieve record-breaking prices. With a particular passion for jewelry history and legendary provenances, she has shepherded rare and remarkable objects to sale, from a seventeenth-century reliquary cross found in a utility drawer to a heart-shaped diamond once owned by the Duchess of Windsor. Catharine has been involved with numerous prestigious collections including those of Estée and Evelyn Lauder, Mrs. Jayne Wrightsman, Delores Bosshard and Mary Duncan Sanford. Knowing that not all great jewels come from boldface names, she enjoys meeting with clients throughout the country, helping them discover the value of long-forgotten pieces.
Catharine began her career at Sotheby's in the Silver and Russian Works of Art departments where she developed a love of precious objects and the stories behind them. After holding positions at the Bridgeman Art Library and the European Furniture Department at Phillips auction house, she returned to Sotheby's in 2005 as a member of the Jewelry Department.
Ms. Becket is frequently interviewed as an authority on jewelry by publications including VOGUE, Harper's Bazaar, The Antiques Trade Gazette and The New York Times, and regularly lectures for both private groups and institutions. She is a GIA certified gemologist and obtained her undergraduate degree at Colgate University and an M.A. in Victorian Art at the Courtauld Institute in London. She is a USPAP Compliant Appraiser.

Frank Everett began his jewelry career with the Italian house of Bulgari in San Francisco, which allowed him to explore his appreciation and passion for jewelry. Largely self-taught in the areas of design, history and gemology, he later joined Tiffany & Co., moving quickly into management and relocating first to Philadelphia, then to Miami and finally to Los Angeles to oversee the West Coast market. After a long and successful run at Tiffany & Co., Frank fulfilled a dream by joining the legendary house of Harry Winston.
In 2013 Frank joined Sotheby's auction house in New York as Senior Vice President and Sales Director for Jewelry. It was here that his knowledge and expertise of the design and history of great period jewels (and the women who wore them) allowed him to emerge as a trusted authority in his field. In 2014 he oversaw the jewels offered in The Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon which achieved $43.8 million for the benefit of the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation. In 2017 Frank singlehandedly brought to auction The Personal Collection of Shaun Leane, forty-two pieces created through a twenty-year partnership with Alexander McQueen for his runway shows, most of which had been exhibited in the record-breaking museum show "Savage Beauty" at The MET and the V&A. The sale was described as "a watershed moment for artist's jewelry" by The Financial Times, as well as being featured in The New York Times. Frank partnered with Carol Woolton, jewelry editor at British Vogue, in 2019 to create the beautiful selling exhibition of floral jewels "IN BLOOM", gaining more international press in the NYT, Vogue and Town & Country. In 2020 he oversaw the promotion of the extraordinary jewels offered in the Collection of Cecile Zilkha. Most recently he partnered with model, activist and author Christy Turlington Burns to host a charity auction in support of her non-profit, Every Mother Counts, helping raise more than $200,000 to honor the organization's ten-year anniversary.
Widely interviewed about the international jewelry market, Frank appears frequently in The New York Times, Town & Country, Vogue, The Financial Times, Robb Report and Elle Décor. As Worldwide Chairman of Jewelry, Gary Schuler oversees auctions and private sales totaling nearly $500 million each year. With over forty years of experience, Mr. Schuler is frequently called upon to consult private collectors, institutions and news outlets on all aspects of jewelry, from significant acquisitions and market trends to the complexities of an ever-evolving industry. In addition to being Sotheby's chief auctioneer for live jewelry sales, he has led his team toward extraordinary innovation in the online arena, establishing clear market dominance.
Mr. Schuler joined Sotheby's in 1987 where he spearheaded jewelry business development in the Midwest and Southeast. Within his first ten years, he helped bring numerous legendary collections to auction including those of Andy Warhol, Mrs. Harry Winston, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. After his appointment to Director of the New York Jewelry Department in 2002-and to Chairman of the Americas in 2015-he secured the collections of Brooke Astor, Estée and Evelyn H. Lauder, and Mrs. Paul Mellon. Jessica Wyndham joined Sotheby's in 2010 as a Trainee Specialist in the London Jewellery Department. In 2016 she was made Head of Department for Jewellery in London, and later reprised this role in Asia, managing sales of Jewellery in Hong Kong. Currently based in Geneva, she has been the Head of Sales for Jewellery in Europe and now focuses on the Online sales taking place in Switzerland.
During her time at Sotheby's, Ms Wyndham has been involved in numerous high-profile sales including "Jewels Formerly in the collection of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor", "The Collection of the Late Michael Wellby" and "Jewels from the Personal Collection of Suzanne Belperron".

Joanna Gong joined Sotheby's in 2019 as a Specialist. Prior to being based in New York, Joanna spent a year rotating between the Geneva and Hong Kong offices, enabling her to connect clients with their ideal markets and opportunities. A Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, Ms. Gong holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in Jewelry Design and a minor in Art History from Pratt Institute. She was one of the first foreign disciples of Japanese silver master Hiroshi Suzuki at Musashino Art University in Tokyo. In addition to her years on the jeweler's bench, Ms. Gong also completed a lapidary course in colored stones and faceting from the Institute of Gem Trading in Bangkok. As Global Head of Online Jewelry Sales she has led the pivot to digital that has allowed Jewelry sales to achieve records for sell through and new client acquisition. She is currently launching a Buy Now marketplace on Sothebys.com that will allow clients to buy jewelry on a new ecommerce platform.

Andres White Correal joined Sotheby's in 2000 as a Jewellery specialist in London. In his role he travels extensively, sourcing jewels from around the world and supporting our international sales in Geneva, New York and Hong Kong. From 2005 to 2015 he lived in Spain, where he acted as a consultant for Sotheby's, securing many record-breaking jewels and private collections.
In 2015, Mr. White Correal was appointed Senior Director of Worldwide Business Development, spearheading the expansion of our extensive network and client base globally. He has been instrumental in initiating strategy resulting in the growth of Jewellery sales in the last two years.
Mr. White Correal earned a Graduate Gemmologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America in New York in 1999. Mr. White Correal has lectured on Jewellery and gemmology in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Germany and Austria.

Biography
Nina del Rio joined Sotheby's in 1988 and has been in her current position since 2003. Under her direction, Sotheby's has been privileged to offer the majority of American institutional collections that have come to market.
Ms del Rio began her career with Sotheby's as a Cataloguer in the Prints department. After a brief hiatus working at the Marlborough Gallery publishing prints, she returned to Sotheby's in 1995 to become Director of the Contemporary Prints department. In 1999, she began working on the launch of Sotheby's online auction site and managed different aspects of Sothebys.com until moving to Museum Services.
Ms del Rio graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. She studied at the École du Louvre in Paris for one year, after which she worked at PS1 in Long Island City, New York.
