Dr Amy Stringer has been with Auckland Radiology Group since 2018. After graduating from The University of Auckland Medical School in 2008 she went on to complete a PGDip in Paediatrics. Following the completion of her Radiology training in Auckland in 2016, Amy undertook a year long Fellowship in Body Oncology Imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York before returning to Auckland. She has completed fixed term roles at Starship Hospital and currently works as a General Radiologist at Waitemata DHB alongside her work at ARG. Amy's particular interests are in Body Oncology Imaging and Paediatrics, and she is also involved in the WDHB Colorectal MDM.

Dr Andrew Smith

Dr Andrew Smith is a radiologist at Auckland Radiology with a special interest in Neuroradiology. He combines this role with an additional position as Neuroradiologist at Auckland City Hospital. After graduating, Andrew completed postgraduate fellowship training in Neuroradiology in both Auckland and Vancouver. Andrew's expertise is in Diagnostic Neuroradiology, including CT and MRI as well as percutaneous spinal procedures. Andrew is also a member of the ‘Deep Brain Stimulation' group at Auckland City Hospital. He has published multiple articles in these areas and has also been invited to speak at international radiology conferences.

Dr Barnaby Clark

Dr Barnaby Clark, holds a consultant position at North Shore Hospital with responsibilities in general and musculoskeletal radiology, non-vascular intervention and cardiac CT alongside his role at Auckland Radiology Group. After graduating from the University of Auckland School of Medicine he completed fellowships with Middlemore Hospital and ARG before heading to Brisbane for two years to gain further experience at St Andrews and at Brisbane Private Hospital. Barnaby's areas of expertise include orthopaedic, rheumatology and sports medicine as well as image guided spinal and musculoskeletal procedures. He has published in peer reviewed journals, contributed to research papers and has been an invited speaker to Australasian conferences on topics in spinal imaging and MRI.

Dr Bonnie Leung

Dr Bonnie Leung is a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist at Starship Children's Hospital. After graduating from the University of Auckland Medical School, she completed her radiology training in Auckland. During this time, she achieved a Master of Health Science at the University of Auckland with First Class Honours. She then undertook further subspecialty fellowship training in paediatric imaging at Starship Children's Hospital and Middlemore Hospital. Bonnie has continued her contribution to research and published in peer reviewed journals, whilst having an active role in radiology training and education. Bonnie joined ARG in 2022.

Dr Brendon O'Donoghue

Dr Brendon O'Donoghue joined Auckland Radiology Group in 2023, alongside his role as a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at Middlemore Hospital, where he has worked full-time since 2015. After graduating from the University of Otago School of Medicine in 2000, Brendon completed specialist radiology training in Wellington in 2010, before undertaking a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Auckland City Hospital. Brendon then worked in Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology in Melbourne, with Medical Imaging Australia (MIA) Victoria and St Vincent's Hospital. In addition to his sub-specialty areas of interventional radiology, endovascular therapy, and interventional oncology, he is a general radiologist with a strong interest in body and oncology Imaging. Brendon is actively involved in training radiology registrars through his role at Middlemore Hospital.

Dr Brigid Connor

Dr Brigid Connor has been providing patients with exceptional care for more than 15 years. She is also a Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at Auckland City Hospital. Brigid graduated from the University of Otago before completing her radiology training in Auckland. After gaining several years' experience in the UK she returned to New Zealand to complete a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology. Vascular and oncology imaging and image guided procedures are Brigid's areas of particular interest and expertise. She was one of the first New Zealand Radiologists to be awarded the European Board of Interventional Radiology, and subsequently served as an Examiner. Brigid is currently the Australasian committee member for the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR).

Dr Catherine Bradshaw

Dr Catherine Bradshaw graduated with her MBChB from Otago University in 2011 and completed her radiology specialist training in Auckland in 2023. Catherine briefly worked as a consultant radiologist in general and musculoskeletal radiology at Auckland City Hospital prior to embarking on her musculoskeletal fellowship at Auckland Radiology Group. Catherine is committed to clinical education and providing high quality imaging and image guided procedures.

Dr Chris McKee is a radiologist at Auckland Radiology Group, alongside his role as a consultant at North Shore Hospital where he is the Director of MRI. Chris' post graduate experience includes a 12 month MRI Fellowship at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne followed by further experience in neuroradiology and body imaging at the Alfred Hospital. Dr Christabel Logan

Dr Christabel Logan works at Auckland Radiology Group alongside her role as a General Radiologist at North Shore Hospital. After graduating from the University of Otago and working at Hawkes Bay and Tauranga Hospitals as a Junior Doctor, Christabel completed her radiology specialty training in Auckland. She completed a one year Fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at Auckland City Hospital in 2022 and is committed to furthering her learning to provide the best diagnostic and musculoskeletal imaging care possible.

Dr Damien Hoon

Dr Damien Hoon graduated from the Auckland University Medical School in 2000 and completed his radiology specialty training in Auckland in 2009. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging in Albury, New South Wales in 2010, and then worked in Canberra for two years as part of the team providing imaging services to the Australian Institute of Sport before returning to Auckland in 2013. Damien has a wide range of expertise in all areas of musculoskeletal imaging and intervention, with a particular interest in spinal interventional procedures. He also holds a consultant position at Middlemore Hospital where he is co-section head of MRI, and is actively involved in the NZ Bone and Soft Tumour Registry.

Dr Daniel Cookson

Dr Daniel Cookson has been a diagnostic radiologist at Auckland Radiology Group since 2020, alongside his appointment as an interventional radiologist at Middlemore Hospital. Daniel gained his medical degree at Edinburgh University, and went on to gain his FRCR (Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists) in the UK in 2004. His subspecialty interests include cardiac CT (CTCA) and liver imaging and intervention; he established the interventional oncology service for liver cancer patients at Middlemore Hospital. Daniel was awarded the EBIR (European Board of Interventional Radiology) in 2015 and has been a level A CTCA Specialist since 2016. He has published articles in both JVIR and CVIR and is a regular reviewer for CVIR. Daniel gained a Master of Laws degree in 2021.

Dr David Dow

Dr David Dow is a radiologist at Auckland Radiology Group alongside his role as a Musculoskeletal Radiologist for Auckland City Hospital. David graduated from the Auckland University School of Medicine and completed his radiology specialist training in Auckland. He subsequently completed a two year musculoskeletal sports imaging fellowship in Perth, Australia and spent a further year as the principal musculoskeletal radiologist in a private practice in Queensland, Australia. As a specialist musculoskeletal radiologist, David is dedicated to providing high quality sports and orthopaedic diagnostic imaging, diagnostic MRI and multi-modality image guided musculoskeletal procedures.

Dr David Perry

Dr David Perry has contributed significantly to the fields of paediatric and women's imaging. David graduated from Auckland University School of Medicine and completed his radiology training in Auckland in 2004, finishing with a fellowship in paediatric radiology at Starship Hospital before joining Auckland Radiology Group. He has worked as a consultant paediatric and obstetric radiologist at Starship and National Women's Health since 2005, including time as the clinical director of Women's Ultrasound. Having pioneered fetal MRI in New Zealand, he is known for his ongoing contribution to the NZ Fetal Medicine Service and holds an honorary position at the Liggins institute, where he is a co-investigator in work assessing patterns of neonatal brain injury and optimising outcomes. He is the chair of the Northern Region Obstetric Ultrasound Quality group and is a co-author of the NZ National Maternity Ultrasound Guidelines. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed to obstetric imaging textbooks. David is a frequent invited speaker at numerous Australasian conferences and continues to contribute to radiology and ultrasound education. David is a guest lecturer at Auckland Medical School.

Dr Francois du Toit

Dr Francois du Toit graduated from the Stellenbosch University Medical School in Cape Town, South Africa in 2007 and completed radiology specialty training at Stellenbosch University in 2017. He first worked as a general radiologist in private practice in South Africa for two years, which is where he developed a special interest in musculoskeletal radiology. Francois subsequently completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging in Auckland in 2020, followed by working in Auckland and then Christchurch before joining the ARG team in 2022. Francois has a wide ranging interest in all areas of radiology and a particular interest in musculoskeletal MRI and therapeutic intervention. He holds a consultant position at North Shore Hospital where he is involved in musculoskeletal and general radiology and performs a wide variety of image guided interventional procedures.

Dr George Foote

Dr George Foote graduated from the Otago University School of Medicine in 1965, gaining his radiology certification in 1972. George and his business partner opened the first private CT Radiology Clinic in New Zealand, which was in Gillies Avenue, Auckland, in 1984. He was a Partner at Auckland Radiology Group from 1988 to 2011 before deciding to step back to a consultancy role. George's specialist areas include oncology imaging, chest and abdominal imaging, scintigraphy and bone densitometry.

Dr Glen Lightbody

Dr Glen Lightbody graduated from the University of Otago medical school in 2000 and completed his specialist radiology training in Auckland in 2008. He was the Auckland Radiology Group musculoskeletal fellow in 2009 prior to moving to Brisbane and gaining further experience in general radiology, musculoskeletal imaging, MRI and image-guided procedures. In 2018 he returned to ARG. Glen is also a consultant radiologist at Middlemore Hospital. He has a special interest in orthopaedic imaging, rheumatology and sports medicine as well as image-guided spinal and musculoskeletal procedures and is also currently involved in radiology registrar teaching.

Dr Glen Thomson

Dr Glen Thomson is a fellowship trained paediatric radiologist with subspecialty expertise in all areas of paediatric imaging, but with particular interest in paediatric head and neck imaging, paediatric neuroradiology and imaging of neonates. He gained his medical degree from Auckland University Medical School, trained in general radiology in Auckland, and was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2000. He spent a year gaining fellowship training in paediatric radiology in 2000-2001 at British Columbia Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Upon returning to Auckland in 2001, Glen completed 6 months fellowship training in MRI at Auckland Radiology Group. In 2002 he started at Middlemore Hospital in charge of paediatric imaging, alongside his role at Auckland Radiology Group. In 2009 he moved from Middlemore to Starship Hospital, where he has further developed his subspecialty interests. He is a current member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Paediatric Radiology (ANZSPR). Glen was a BreastScreen radiologist at CMDHB 2005-2007, and continues to have an interest in breast imaging.

An Otago Medical School graduate, Helen completed her post graduate training in Auckland before completing her fellowship in MRI at the Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne in 2002. In 2021 she was recipient of the RANZCR Rouse Travelling Fellowship award. Helen specialises in body imaging, with particular expertise in Gastrointestinal Radiology and CT Colonography, and Gynaecological Imaging including Oncology, Endometriosis and Urogynaecology MRI and Advanced Pelvic Floor Ultrasound. She teaches at regular CT Colonography accreditation workshops in Australasia and has lectured widely on this topic as well as Women's Health topics; and published scientific papers. She is a member of the Northern Midland Gynaecology Oncology Tumour Stream, and serves on the medical advisory board for the NZ Gynaecological Cancer Foundation. She was a member of the Northern Bowel Cancer Tumour Stream from 2010-2021, and on the National Bowel Cancer Working Group from 2014-2020. She is a member of Abdominal Radiology Group of Australia and NZ, Australia NZ Gynaecological Oncology Group and the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology.

Dr Jack (Yun-Jung) Tsai

Dr Jane Peart is a general radiologist who has worked with Auckland Radiology Group since 2002. Jane has a special interest in infertility imaging and in obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound. She also maintains an interest in new developments in imaging technology and remains active academically with publications in peer reviewed journals and ongoing research activity in infertility imaging.

Dr Jash Agraval

Dr Jash Agraval graduated from the University of Auckland Medical School in 2007 and completed his radiology training in Auckland. He then undertook subspecialty fellowship training in Oncologic and Molecular imaging at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, returning to Auckland in 2016. He is currently the Clinical Director of Radiology at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, as well as the clinical lead for the Health NZ Transforming Diagnostic Imaging (TDI) project. Jash has subspecialty interests in PET-CT and oncologic imaging with a particular focus in hepatobiliary, gynaecologic and prostate imaging. An active member of the Royal Australia NZ College of Radiologists (RANZCR), Jash is the Deputy Chief Censor and Chair of the Curriculum Assessment Committee. He also sits on the Education and Training Committee, Research Committee and Maori, Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Executive Committee. Jash is an active member of Radiology Across Borders where he is the co-lead in the International Certificate of Radiology Fundamentals (ICRF) which provides radiology education and support to developing nations.

Dr Karen Billington

Dr Karen Billington graduated from Trinity College Medical School before entering the Irish Radiology training scheme at St James' Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. She completed this training in 2015, having obtained fellowship of both the Irish Faculty of Radiology, Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Radiologists (UK). During this time, Karen undertook additional study and earned a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Education from the National University of Ireland. Karen moved to Auckland in 2015 to undertake subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging at Auckland City Hospital. Upon completion of her fellowship, she was offered a Consultant Radiologist post at the hospital and joined ARG as a Musculoskeletal Radiologist in August 2016. Karen continues to take an active role in Clinical Education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is also involved in research with her Rheumatology colleagues at the University of Auckland and is interested in all forms of MSK intervention.

Dr Kate O'Connor

Dr Kate O'Connor has more than 20 years' experience delivering exceptional care to patients. She combines her Auckland Radiology Group roles with an additional position as radiologist for Auckland District Health Board. A University of Auckland graduate, Kate stayed in Auckland to complete her radiology training. She has had roles as a supervisor of registrar training and Part 2 viva examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) as well as two terms as the NZ Faculty Councillor for Clinical Radiology for RANZCR. Kate has a special interest in all aspects of Head & Neck imaging, works closely with the ORL Surgical & Oncology service at ADHB and regularly presents imaging findings at the weekly regional Head & Neck MDM.

Dr Kirsten Pearce

Dr Lara Sweetman

Dr Lara Sweetman is a musculoskeletal and general radiologist at both Auckland Radiology Group and Auckland City Hospital. Lara graduated from the School of Medicine in Trinity College Dublin in 1996, and after gaining postgraduate experience in Ireland and Queensland, completed her radiology training in Auckland. Lara subsequently undertook subspecialty training in musculoskeletal radiology through a combined Auckland Radiology Group/Auckland City Hospital fellowship. Areas of expertise include sports and orthopaedic imaging, and Lara has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and spinal imaging and intervention.

Dr Neal Stewart

Radiologist Dr Neal Stewart also works as a musculoskeletal radiologist for the Auckland District Health Board, where he has been making important contributions to the study of radiology for more than 30 years. A graduate from Otago Medical School, Neal completed his radiology training in Christchurch. He gained American Board of Radiology certification after completing a fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. Orthopaedic, rheumatology, musculoskeletal tumour and sports medicine imaging are Neal's areas of expertise.

Dr Nick Dodd

Dr Nick Dodd has enjoyed a successful career with over 30 years' experience. After graduating from Auckland University School of Medicine Nick further trained in diagnostic radiology in Auckland before moving to Atlanta, Georgia for post-graduate training in scintigraphy. Nick's specialist areas include ultrasound, scintigraphy, interventional radiology and abdominal imaging including MRI. He has a special interest in Uroradiology including prostate imaging.

Dr Penny Symes

Penny graduated from the University of Otago in 1992 then came to Auckland for her specialist radiology training. She completed a mini-MRI Fellowship at Auckland Radiology Group in 2003. Her experience includes Head of Ultrasound at North Shore Hospital (NSH) and Director of Training, involved in registrar supervision and training, also at NSH. Penny's special interests include obstetrics and gynaecology radiology as well as general abdominal and oncology radiology. She performs HSGs in the investigation of infertility and is involved in the gynaecology oncology MDM as well as heading up the North Shore pelvic floor MDM for the investigation of defecatory disorders.

Dr Rebecca Biggs

After working in Wellington, Auckland and Australia she completed her radiology specialist training in Auckland, including a 6 month fellowship in breast imaging at Middlemore Hospital. Rebecca joined ARG in 2022, she also works in the Body department at Auckland City Hospital. She maintains an interest in Oncological and Womens' imaging, including being a member of the Northern Regional Maternal Imaging Quality Assurance Group.

Dr Rebecca Woodward

Rebecca has a special interest in hip imaging and research. She has been published in peer reviewed journals with leaders in the field and is involved in ongoing international collaborations. She also supervises research students, and is an FANZCR examiner.

Dr Rhian Miranda

Dr Rhian Miranda has been with Auckland Radiology Group since 2015, alongside his role as consultant radiologist at Auckland City Hospital. After graduating from the University of Auckland Medical School Rhian stayed on in Auckland to complete his radiology specialty training. He completed a fellowship at St Vincents Hospital, Melbourne, in 2013, focusing on bone and soft tissue sarcoma imaging and intervention. Rhian is involved in orthopaedic registrar teaching, as well as teaching at the University of Auckland. He regularly participates in the regional ‘Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Multidisciplinary Meetings' and has a further interest in musculoskeletal intervention including image-guided treatment and diagnostic procedures.

Dr Richard Beedie

Dr Richard Beedie has been a musculoskeletal radiologist with Auckland Radiology Group since 1989. He is also Chairman of the Auckland Regional Radiology Information Systems group and is on the governance committee of Breast Screen Waitemata Northland. Richard has a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging and was a member of the Rugby World Cup 2011 Medical Imaging Team. His furthered interest includes breast imaging; setting up the original multidisciplinary breast clinic at North Shore Hospital, on the project team for Breast Screen Waitemata Northland and a screen reader since its inception in 2006; and establishing breast MRI services at North Shore Hospital. Body imaging is another subspecialty. Richard is also involved in medical student and registrar teaching and is a consultant Radiologist at North Shore Hospital.

Dr Rob Mitchell

Dr Rob Mitchell graduated from the University of Otago Medical School and completed his Radiology training in Auckland. He completed fellowships in Neuroradiology at Auckland Hospital and MRI at North Shore Hospital, and then began as a Consultant Radiologist at North Shore Hospital in 2012. Rob is currently Deputy Clinical Director at North Shore Hospital and Waitākere Hospital, and was previously CT Team Leader for 5 years and Education Team Leader for 3 years. Amongst other interests at North Shore Hospital, Rob has been a passionate advocate for improving rapid access to advanced stroke imaging in the Waitematā District. Rob's special interests include neuroradiology, as well as body and general radiology.

Dr Sarah Benson-Cooper

Dr Sarah Benson-Cooper rejoined the ARG team as a Body Imaging Radiologist in 2022, having previously worked here in 2020 and 2021 before beginning her fellowship. After graduating and then completing her radiology training in Auckland, Sarah undertook a body and fluoroscopy fellowship at Auckland City Hospital, with a genitourinary subspecialty focus. She continues to work as a Consultant Radiologist at Auckland City Hospital, alongside her work at ARG. Sarah's specialist areas include emergency, oncology and body reporting, fluoroscopy lists with a particular interest in post surgical fluoroscopy, and ultrasound guided biopsies. She also is a presenter of the ADHB Genitourinary MDM. Sarah is actively involved with Royal Australia NZ College of Radiologists (RANZCR), currently sitting on the RANZCR Curriculum Assessment Committee, as well as the NZ Radiology Education Trust Committee.

After completing a musculoskeletal imaging fellowship at Victoria House Medical Imaging (I-Med Radiology Network) in Melbourne, Australia, Sim worked as a consultant in Melbourne for four and a half years, gaining a broad range of experience and skills in musculoskeletal imaging, general radiology and intervention. In 2021 Simran returned home to New Zealand to work at ARG. He also works as a consultant radiologist at Middlemore Hospital where he is involved in the Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Multidisciplinary meeting. Simran has a special interest in sports imaging, musculoskeletal procedures and bone and soft tissue tumour imaging.

Dr Stephen Bepko

Dr Stephen Bepko graduated with a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and completed his radiology residency at the University of Texas, San Antonio Health Science Centre in 2007 before going on to complete a one year Breast and Body Imaging Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, New York City, in 2013. Stephen served 20-years of active duty service for the US Air Force Medical Corp, and upon retiring in 2017 had completed several assignments, two of which included Chief of Radiology at the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital (2007-2012) and Chief of Breast Imaging at David Grant Medical Centre (2013-2017). Stephen has been with Auckland Radiology Group since 2019 and also works as a Consultant Radiologist at St Marks Breast Centre. He has a particular interest in breast imaging and image-guided breast procedures.

Steve is an Otago University graduate who then completed Fellowships in Auckland, at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland and in Melbourne, Australia. While Steve is involved in all areas of body imaging and intervention, he has particular interest in Hepatobiliary and Vascular Imaging and Intervention. He has published in peer reviewed journals, co-written book chapters, and been involved in local and international meetings both as invited Faculty and Convenor. He has previously been the NZ branch representative of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA); Australasian Committee member for the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR) and NZ representative for the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Peripheral Endovascular Therapy (CCRTPET). He is currently on the secretariat of the NZIIR (New Zealand Institute for Independent Radiologists).

Dr Stephen Wood

Dr Stephen Wood has a career spanning more than 15 years delivering first class patient care as a general radiologist, 13 of these with Auckland Radiology alongside positions as a Body Radiologist at Auckland City Hospital and Screening and Assessing Radiologist at BreastScreen Aotearoa. Steve did his radiology training in Auckland after gaining his medical degree from the University of Auckland.

Dr Vicki Morganti graduated from the University of Auckland Medical School, then went to Christchurch for her radiology training. Vicki has had postgraduate experience in Australia, and her special interest is in orthopaedic and sports medicine imaging using ultrasound and MRI. In addition to her role at Auckland Radiology Group she is a musculoskeletal radiologist at Auckland Hospital.

Dr Robert Sim has been providing world-class imaging services with Auckland Radiology Group for more than 25 years. Alongside his consultant role at ARG, Rob holds technical advisory roles with the Ministry of Health and IANZ (International Accreditation New Zealand). After graduating from the University of Otago, Rob attained post-graduate experience in Australia. His experience includes more than 25 years at National Women's Hospital, where he was Head of Department, and Clinical Director of National Women's Ultrasound at Auckland City Hospital. He has been awarded life membership of the Royal Australasian College of Radiology (RANZCR) in recognition of contributions to obstetric imaging.
