Matthew joined the firm from the First National Bank of Alaska Trust Department. His passion is fiduciary Wealth Management and Permanent Fund building. Matthew has a JD from Willamette University, is a member of the Oregon bar and is Series 65 licensed. He started managing portfolios professionally in 1996 and has 22 years of experience in wealth management; the last eight of those years serving institutional clients and bank side-wealth transfer events for high-net-worth business owners. During his career, Matthew has worked for three firms in the top 40, ranked by fiduciary assets under management. He has a passion for all things rural Alaska, dating back to Bering Sea fishing adventures that paid his way for college, and considers it a privilege to serve on the Board of RurALCAP and Rural Energy Enterprises. Matthew is also a member of the Alaska Estate Planning Council. He has previously held the FINRA Series 7, and 63 licenses as well as an insurance license. Matthew enjoys solving problems and exceeding client expectations, he is interested in both the credit and debit side of the balance sheet. He works hard to use his legal and banking background to translate complex wealth strategies into language the average person can understand.
