CALGARY ALTERNATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES - Key Persons
I have been an active leader and participant on numerous boards and committees on local and provincial levels. My career began and flourished following my injury in 1975, but my personal experience with a spinal cord injury has fueled my true passion - to assist others who also live with various disabilities, and to promote disability awareness and barrier-free environments.

Hello! My name is Jenna and I am a Career Consultant here at CAES. I started working at CASS in 2019 in CADO where I was a Community Support Worker. I am excited to expand my career and continue to advocate for marginalized populations while providing support to give everyone an equal opportunity to reach their full potential. My passion has always been helping others to lead a meaningful and independent life and overcome any barriers that limit self-growth. I am originally from Vancouver Island where my background is in Criminology. My education and hands-on experiences have led me here and I am thrilled to be a part of the Calgary Alternative Employment Services team where inclusion and diversity are at the forefront. When I'm not at work, I am usually taking my dog on adventures, road-tripping back home to BC, or camping in the mountains with friends and family.
I am one of the Owner / Operators and Chief Executive Officer of Calgary Alternative Support Services Inc. My journey in non-profit began in 1998 as a Social Work practicum student with CASS. My journey has continued, working with marginalized populations in various capacities for over 20 years. My experience as a registered Social Worker and a certified Mental Health First Aid Trainer has provided me with the opportunity to walk with the people we support, through their experiences, and to learn and grow alongside them.I have always felt fortunate to be a part of facilitating connection, value, and inclusion within so many circles of my life. A large part of this has been my experience in Supported Employment. Supporting individuals to take a risk, take a leap, and reach for the stars! Alone we may fail, but together we will strive. What I have learned throughout my journey is, "When it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars!
