CHILLICOTHE COUNTRY CLUB

Situated adjacent to Simpson Park in north Chillicothe, the Chillicothe Country Club has provided a challenging course to its members since it was established in 1923. The course is 9-hole, but has 18-tees. The yardage on the back nine changes from the front to create a challenge. The greens are USGA approved and are bent grass, and the bluegrass-grown fairways are long and tight. Seven sand traps and two ponds come into play creating a "must play" course for novice to accomplished golfers. The clubhouse and lounge are easily accessible during play as the concrete cart path passes them at three points. Private tennis courts are located at the east end by the entry. It's easy to find us..... The Chillicothe Country Club began as a six-hole course on land owned by the Chillicothe Fairgrounds Association. Horse barns and a racetrack lined the north end of the property, and grandstands sat close to where the current clubhouse now sits. Golfers were allowed to use the fairgrounds in trade..
