The College Point Board of Trade, founded in 1969, is an action oriented business organization made up of manufacturing, industrial and contracting firms, retail merchants, legal, medical and personal service professionals, banking, financial and insurance institutions, and a wide variety of small and large neighborhood businesses-all working together to foster good trade and commerce, to promote the general welfare, growth and prosperity of our own College Point business and residential community... We've conducted a survey to improve traffic flow for the ambulance corps, trucking and residential cars-to eliminate congestion and traffic jams and provide a free flow for fire, police and hospital emergency vehicles. We were one of the first communities, at our own expense, to install high pressure sodium lights for traffic and pedestrian safety. Our successful experiences eventually induced City Hall to make similar city-wide installations, paid for by the City. Our business members..
