Bonnie Barsky

Bonnie Barsky, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced in the Chicago area since 1983. She grew up in a family of dermatologists in the western suburbs of Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago in 1979, after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She interned at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in internal medicine and completed her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in 1983, where she remained as attending dermatology staff teacher for several years before going into private practice in Oak Brook. In 1999, Dr.Barsky became a partner in the Highland Park practice of Darryl Bronson, MD, and in January 2013 joined Dermatology Partners of the North Shore. Dr. Barsky is on staff at NorthShore University HealthSystem. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Chicago Dermatological Society, Women's Dermatologic Society, and Great Lakes Dermatology Society.

Bruce Bennin

Bruce Bennin, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced on the North Shore since 1976. Dr. Bennin grew up in Chicago, completed his undergraduate degree at Bradley University, and received his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University in 1970. He completed a one-year internal medicine residency at Michael Reese Hospital in 1971 and a dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in 1976. He was in private practice in Deerfield until becoming a founding partner of Dermatology Partners of the North Shore in 1999. Dr. Bennin is an associate attending physician at NorthShore University HealthSystem, Assistant Clinical Professor at Rush Medical Center, Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University, and consultant at Cook County Hospital. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, as well as a member of the Chicago Dermatological Society, the Great Lakes Dermatologic Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society of Dermatopatholgy.

David B. Shanker

David B. Shanker, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced in Chicago and the north suburbs since 1985. He grew up in Chicago and is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana and the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He also completed his Dermatology Residency at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. Dr. Shanker is an attending physician at NorthShore University Health System and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at the University of Illinois. He was named by Chicago Magazine as one of Chicago's top Dermatologists in 2021 and 2022. He has also been president of both the Chicago Dermatological Society and the Great Lakes Dermatologic Society. Dr. Shanker lives in the north suburbs with his wife Lisa and is proud father of three daughters. When not working, he enjoys gardening, dining, and movies. He is an avid gardener, the world's slowest jogger, and a poor golfer.

Dr. Romi Bloom

Dr. Romi Bloom is a Harvard-trained, board-certified dermatologist who takes pride in providing excellent patient care. Dr. Bloom was born in South Africa and grew up in Highland Park, IL. She attended the BS/MD Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami in Florida. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami. Subsequently, she attained her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she graduated within the top ten percent of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Chicago's Northshore University Health System and her dermatology residency training at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program. During her residency Dr. Bloom practiced dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Boston Children's Hospital. After residency, she practiced dermatology at Massachusetts Dermatology Associates for two years prior to joining DPNS. Her primary clinical interests include skin cancer screening and treatment, acne, rosacea, rashes, psoriasis, eczema, surgery, and innovative therapeutics. Dr. Bloom provides personalized and compassionate patient care, thoroughly addresses patients' questions, and enjoys getting to know her patients.

Gina C. Marafino

Gina C. Marafino, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced on the North Shore since 2003. Dr. Marafino grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Mary's College of Notre Dame. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in 1999 and was granted membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Marafino completed one year of internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in 2003, where she served as chief resident. She joined Dermatology Partners of the North Shore in 2003. Dr. Marafino is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Chicago Dermatologic Society.

Josie Driscoll

Josie Driscoll, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. Josie received her Bachelor of Science in microbiology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1999. She is a 2003 graduate from Midwestern University's Physician Assistant Master's program. Josie has worked in several entities of healthcare, but found her passion in dermatology where she has specialized as a PA since 2007. Josie joined the D.P.N.S. Surgical Center in 2017. She is qualified to perform a comprehensive dermatological examination to detect skin cancers. She is skilled and experienced at performing basic and intermediate surgical procedures. Josie is also proficient in a variety of lasers and specializes in the Vbeam (vascular laser) and CORE (resurfacing laser). Additionally, she performs cosmetic injections including Botox and dermal fillers. Josie enjoys building positive relationships with her patients and takes the time to explain complex treatments to patients and their families. Josie is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Nicole P. Huffman

Nicole P. Huffman, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced on the North Shore since 2012. Dr. Huffman grew up in Connecticut, completed her undergraduate studies at Tufts University in Boston, undertook a year of research at Yale University, and graduated from New York Medical College in 2008 as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her transitional year at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, followed by a dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Huffman joined Dermatology Partners of the North Shore in 2012 and became a partner in 2017. Dr. Huffman is on the medical staff of NorthShore University HealthSystem, is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Nikki N. Kim

Nikki N. Kim, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced in the North Shore since 2014. Dr. Kim completed her undergraduate degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her medical degree at the University of Illinois as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2014. Dr. Kim joined Dermatology Partners of the North Shore in 2017. She is on the medical staff of NorthShore University HealthSystem, is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Chicago Dermatologic Society.

Tatyana Vayner

Tatyana Vayner, LE, is a Licensed Medical Esthetician & Laser Specialist. After spending many years in the beauty industry, Tatyana's passion grew into skincare and medical aesthetics. Her own experience with post-pregnancy skin challenges fueled Tatyana's desire to help others reach and maintain their skincare goals. She is a graduate of the International Skin Beauty Academy and CoolSculpting University. Her passion is continuing education and learning the latest in treatments and technology so she can provide her patients with the best reverse-aging skin care. Tatyana is HALO and HERO certified and has advanced training in Aesthetic Sciences, including laser light and energy-based technologies, with over 15 years of experience in the industry. She uses a comprehensive approach to help patients achieve their skin and aesthetic goals. Tatyana works with each patient to create an easy-to-follow, customized skin care routine that can be done at home to enhance their in-office treatments. Her first goal is to build a rapport and create an individualized treatment plan for each of her patients based on transparency and trust.
