Is Pamela's husband. He graduated at Universidad de Cuenca in 2009. He also spent four years in Mexico City where he first specialized in Periodontics and Implantology at Universidad Intercontinental in 2012, and then he specialized in Endodontics at Universidad Intercontinental in 2014. He is also a teach at the Postgraduate Programs at Universidad de Cuenca.

His grandfather, José Domingo Acosta, graduated in 1908 and became the first certified dentist in the city of Cuenca. His father, Dr. Hernando Acosta, graduated in 1941 and also practiced in the city of Cuenca; he was the Dean at the Dentistry Faculty at Universidad de Cuenca for many years, and teacher for 39 years.

Is José Acosta´s daughter and is a fourth-generation dentist. She graduated at Universidad de Cuenca in 2008. She spent four years in Mexico City and specialized in Prosthodontics (Oral Rehabilitation) at Universidad Intercontinental in 2013, and Prosthetic Implantology at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2014.
