Today as a new chapter is being written in our company's future, we are discovering that potential business prospects share our enthusiasm for the Garden Fresh concept. The paradigm is shifting in our culture's dining habits, and Garden Fresh Deli is ready to supply the demands of these health conscious consumers... After immigrating to the U.S. from Greece, our founding partner, Peter Kanelos, ventured into his first restaurant. Over the next forty years, Pete successfully developed and operated several restaurants including Cincinnati's most popular sandwich deli, The Marathon Inn. The draw of family brought Pete and his wife to Charlotte, North Carolina where he and his new business partner Don opened the first Garden Fresh Deli inside Carolinas Medical Center in November 2001.
