GRACE ACHIEVE

Grace Achieves Inc. began operating in South East DC in January 2013. The founder, Holynne Steppe, moved to the Capital Region from St Louis, MO and was actively looking for ways to become involved in the community. After falling in love with the children in SE DC, she began showing up weekly to help with homework, provide snacks, listen to stories and simply be there. And you could say the rest is history..... Grace Achieves Inc. operates out of south east Washington DC, one of DC's most vulnerable and needy communities. We offer free tutoring and mentoring services in the communities we serve. Throughout the school year, we are always seeking volunteers to help us at our sites... 5 - 5:15pm: Poems of the Day - We are working our way through Shel Silverstein's poems. We read 2 poems each day and the children respond by choosing one to draw a picture of the scene and write why they choose that particular poem.
