Ok, it's not quite as catchy as Dr. Seuss's Sam I am character. But it certainly is a statement which is true to me. My kiddos can tell you that without fail every single morning there will be a Starbucks Coffee cup on my desk. Even the day I wore my pj's to school I proudly walked into Starbucks with a smile on my face. Knowing I was a teacher of course as soon as they saw me they said "nope don't tell us it's pajama day." My second obsession is books! I am empowered by reading! I love making characters come to life. I incorporate reading in every aspect of my teaching. Elizabeth Hardwick once said "The greatest gift is a passion for reading. It is cheap, it consoles, it distracts, it excites, it gives you knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is a moral illumination." Since I'm on the subject of books. All my kids know my all time favorite store in the whole wide world. Barnes-n-Noble! Not only do they sell books but a Starbucks is attached. What more can a gal ask..
